Heads up Gnomies. The weather is flipping. Starting Saturday, 10/10, expect a little rain (around a third of an inch) followed by snow that could stack up to 8" in the Bridgers over the next few days.
Season’s not over for Crosscut's singletrack, but it needs a break. Please keep the bike in the garage while the storm moves through, and give the dirt some time to drain and firm back up once it passes. Tacky, saturated trails can look fine on the surface and still get chewed up fast. Ruts and tread damage from riding them now are the kind of thing we’ll be fixing next spring. We want to avoid this as much as possible, and keep our beloved trails running great!
Crosscut will post on Trailforks and on their website when the trails are good to go, so that’s the place to check before you head out. We will also get an announcement out on our socials. And if you were hoping for groomed winter trails, October snow won’t be turning into those, so no grooming is planned.
