Healthier Boynton Beach

Healthier Boynton Beach Healthier Boynton Beach is a community-driven initiative to inspire, support and improve the lives of caregivers in the Boynton Beach community.

Local leaders and residents in the Boynton Beach community have identified Family Caregiving as the critical health issue in their area and are collaborating with Palm Healthcare Foundation, utilizing the committed funds, to create lasting, impactful change. Jupiter, Delray, Boynton Beach, North Palm Beach/Riviera, Lake Worth and The Glades were selected to receive $200,000 a year for the next fiv

e years in an effort to improve the health and well-being of local residents. Each community selects from Palm Healthcare Foundation’s three priority areas for Healthier Together - diabetes prevention and management, behavioral health and family caregiving. Goals of the 5-year place-based initiative:

- To help change long-term health outcomes of the residents in Palm Beach County
- To increase capacity among individuals, organizations, and systems to impact lasting and sustainable
change related to health and well-being
- To establish a learning framework to evaluate the overall impact of the Healthier Together initiative as
well as the impact at the community level

*News Alert*
Yesterday concerned residents and community leaders met with the City of Boynton Beach staff, and the conversation was productive. This is what happens when we don’t keep quiet.

Here’s what came out of the meeting.

• City engineers will now evaluate the situation before any enforcement moves forward.
• Because of that review, enforcement of the parking ordinance will be paused for the next six months.
• In two weeks, the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency will hold a meeting to vote on a new program to support property owners.

The proposal would provide up to $35,000 per property to help residents:

• Expand driveways
• Improve parking access
• Make exterior and property improvements

This is what happens when people organize, speak up, and don’t stay quiet.

Stay tuned. More updates are coming as the CRA vote approaches.
