If you are interested in volunteering there are many ways to help:
-Donate: As a non profit we survive solely on donations from the public.
-Foster: Foster homes help us to take animals that are in the shelter or surrendered and get them adapted to a new home lifestyle. It allows us to learn and observe the animals behaviors and character so that we can better place the animal with an adoptive home. Fostering is very important and without foster homes we would not be able to save animals.
-Adopt: All animals should have a loving home of their own!
-Home checks: home checks are needed for all of our foster and adoptive homes. If one comes up in your area we would love to have you volunteer.
-Transport: Drivers are always needed to help our animals get from point A to point B. Whether to a new home or to vet appointments and or therapies.
-Sponsor: Sponsoring and animal covers the vet cost and boarding if needed. This is a huge help for cash strapped rescues.
-Network and Share! Please help us to share all of the animals in need! Our rescue may be out of NY but we have volunteers all over the country as well as foster homes and adopters. It is with a very heavy heart that I announce I have stepped down and away from PAL 💔. With everything going on in my personal life, I can no longer give the time and energy that the rescue deserves. I will still be involved in rescue just not with PAL or in the same capacity as I was. I want to thank Caryl Shulman and her late husband Richard for my love of chows and for allowing me to assist in saving so many lives over the last 12 years, she was indeed a great mentor! A VERY special thank you to Darryll Allen Devine and Norma Devine for their guidance, assistance, and unwavering love of the bred, you guys are amazing and will forever have my love and appreciation! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the entire PAL family...every follower, supporter and volunteer for all the love, care, concern shown to the rescue!

Please meet Bear! Bear is only 10 months old and is said to be an Alaskan Malamute/Chow. He is great with other dogs but definitely not fond of our feline friends😞

Bear weighs 60lbs and is fully vetted. He was neglected and we were told hit but still remains a happy pup outside if the kennels.

He is located currently in Harrisburg, PA and is in desperate need of a family to call his own as he is so scared in the shelter. 😔

I can't believe these two beautiful 7 month old smooth coat pups have had no interest 😔

Ebony and Monty are siblings and have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and have all their vaccines! They just need a loving forever home and a family to call their own!

Unfortunately, PAL was informed that one of our long time friends, follower, supporter and former adopter, Jimmy Hudak has passed away! 😞

He adopted Buddy, a young red handsome boy from us last year and now Buddy is in need of a foster/adopter. He is a very friendly boy, gets along well with other dogs and strangers. He is currently with Jimmy's sister in Levittown, NY. She is in the process of moving and can't take Buddy with her😞. He is a big boy of 70-75 lbs, neutered, UTD on vaccines.

We are praying someone will step up for Buddy, he is confused right now but has as always been on his best behavior 🥰. Buddy is approximately 3 years old.

We are doing a special fundraiser for our forever foster Brutus! Brutus's mom recently came down with covid and spent 2 days basically bedridden, on day 3 she felt good enough to get out of bed and resume some of her activities. She immediately noticed an open sore on Brutus's front leg 💔. He was immediately taken to the vet and put on antibiotics. Unfortunately, this wound is very deep and they want him to come back this Wednesday for a surgical cleansing of the wound as well as a culture and complete blood work. They are very concerned that he was able to do this is 2 days. He is currently wearing a cone to stop him from the constant licking of the area.

They gave us an estimate of $600 - $1000 for his visit. We are a small rescue and really need some help to get this boy well.

Please keep Brutus in your thoughts and prayers for the best possible outcome! 🥰🐾

We need a foster willing to take a senior couple. This male and female are 10 years old, are in great health and act much younger then their age. Their owner is having to re-home them asap as they did NOT like being mishandled by a young grandchild and nipped the child.

Unfortunately, we were not given much time to find a foster so we are sending out a plea to anyone that would like to foster this well behaved, friendly and very pretty duo to save their lives! They should not suffer or lose their lives due to no real fault of their own 💔

He was part of the dogs that were dumped at the construction site. Michael Chapman helped PAL and scooped this boy up and he is now ready for his forever home and/or a foster home until his forever family is found🥰

Butterball Update:

This beautiful 5 year old boy was an owner surrender. It was very obvious he had been neglected. He had a vet appointment set and on Sunday he started whining, crying and there was blood on his paws 😞. Our Foster ran him to the emergency vet and Butterball needed to be sedated so they could get a good look at what was going on. The vet stated that Butterball has the worst ear infection he has ever seen and this poor boy's dew claws were overgrown and had grown into his skin. The pain and discomfort this boy must have been feeling for so long breaks our heart💔

As you all know, PAL is a small rescue and we were totally unprepared for the 1900 vet bill on Sunday😞. We are sending out an S.O.S, as Butterball is still in need of more vetting as well as Monty's transport costs coming up. We can only help these beautiful animals with your support! Please consider donating, your donations able us to pull more animals in need and to be a voice for those without! ❤️🥰🐾

We are so very grateful that Butterball is on the mend and feeling better every day that goes by. His personality is coming out more and more, he lives to play with toys and loves to be pet. He will now lean into his foster mom and dad for love 🥰. This boy is going to make a family very happy!

Butterball is settling into his foster home nicely 🥰

It is believed that Butterball may have a severe ear infection as well as overgrown dew claws that may have pierced the skin 😞

A vet appointment will be made to get this boy looked over and make sure everything is addressed. 🐾🥰
