We are gathering valuable resources to expand our Recovery Capital Journal, an initiative aimed at supporting women in recovery. Your recommendations will help us compile a comprehensive guide featuring books, podcasts, online support groups, financial literacy tools, and career growth skills and opportunities tailored for women navigating their recovery journey.

🌟Exciting News from The Milestone House!

We are thrilled to share that The Milestone House has been approved for Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute - PCORI funding through the Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Award Program. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to advancing research and collaboration in the recovery residence community.

Our upcoming project, "Convening the Recovery Residence (RR) Stakeholder Community to Explore PCOR/CER Opportunities," aims to unite stakeholders from diverse backgrounds at a conference in September 2024 to explore the potential of Patient-Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) and Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER).

🎯 Project Goals:

• Educate Recovery Residence communities about PCOR/CER.
• Foster awareness and alignment between research scientists and Recovery Residence methods.
• Prepare for future projects with long-term sustainability.
We invite Recovery Residence operators, residents, healthcare providers, researchers, and other stakeholders to join us on September 11, 2024, in Rockaway, New Jersey, for this pivotal conference.

The inclusive cities model was originally conceptualised by Best and Colman (2018) based on the idea that recovery is an achievement that should be celebrated in order to:

1. Challenge stigma and exclusion
2. Increase visibility of recovery and access to community resources

In the course of 2023 and 2024 there has been an explosion of interest in this topic and there are now around 30 Inclusive Recovery Cities across the UK, Ireland, the Balkan region, Belgium, Sweden and South Africa.

The approach is based on a strategic commitment to celebrating and promoting recovery through a minimum of four public facing events that are open, accessible and engaging; the result of which is to create new community assets and community connections.
