As the Leadership Charlevoix County Class of 2026 wraps up this incredible chapter, we are proud to celebrate the impact of our service project, Growing Hope for Boyne Valley Community Greenhouse. From collaboration and fundraising events to hands-on work bees and community support, we came together with one shared mission: helping Boyne Valley Community Greenhouse continue its important work of providing fresh, accessible food resources to help reduce food insecurity throughout Charlevoix County.
Today, the greenhouse is thriving and ready for a spectacular growing season — stocked with new tools, fresh plants, and a brand-new garden stand that will help continue the fight to decrease the food insecurity gap throughout Charlevoix County. What started as a project quickly became something much bigger: a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with compassion, determination, and hope.
Thank you to everyone who followed along on this journey and supported us through kind words, financial donations, fundraising participation, volunteer efforts, and physical item donations. Every act of generosity made a difference, and your encouragement reminded us that even the smallest seeds of kindness can grow into something truly life-changing. Together, we are planting hope for the future.
This last year has been filled with inspiration, surprises, lessons learned, friendships formed, and meaningful connections made. As a class, we grew not only as leaders, but as individuals who now better understand the power of service, teamwork, and community. Leadership is not about standing alone — it is about lifting others, creating opportunities, and leaving places better than we found them.
We are incredibly grateful for this journey and look forward to continuing to serve and support the amazing communities that make Charlevoix County such a beautiful place to call home. The seeds planted this year will continue to grow for years to come, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds.
