Folding folding folding today! They go from factory wrapped, to presentable, and the card added for a message to every single patient. Very important to me they feel these were given with love and attention,nit just thrown together ❤️

Today I had the extreme pleasure of meeting this fabulous committee of friends that hosts a dodgeball tournament as a fundraiser yearly! This year one of the members had received on of our robes and chose Robes for Radiation to receive her funds! I am beyond grateful! This check will go a long way!

The annual GMMS Dodgeball for Life tournament is a charity event that benefits those in our GMSD community battling cancer.

On March 29th, the annual GMMS Dodgeball for Life tournament raised a grand total of over $6,500 for members of our GMSD community battling cancer and for charities of their choosing. A great day was had by all! Congratulations to all winning teams!

Remember, fundraiser for Robes for Radiation this weekend! Jim is home, we’ll be there Friday night.
Perfect timing for some great news! Rober for Radiation under Comfortand Hugz LLC is an officially Pa recognized non profit! Goals this year to expand our reach to more local centers AND hopefully a website for anyone to access through donation the ability to send a robe to family or friends who may not be local. Maybe we will even be able to expand to chemo boxes. So come support us, we need every bit! I humbly thank anyone who has supported me along the way and my far more legal smart sister, Angi Donkus! Couldn’t do it alone!

We are thrilled to announce that our recent fundraiser for Robes for Radiation was a success! Thanks to our incredible patients, staff and our community, we raised $610 to provide robes for individuals undergoing radiation treatment. A special thanks to charity founder Andrea Fishlock and our Boyertown clinic director Monica Hallman for their support. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing challenging times.

So happy to report, 2023 Robes for Radiation finished in the red, and with a stock of robes going into the new year! We donated over 105 robes this year, and picked up another location. That’s 105 lives touched and happily, yet sadly, more this coming year. The Reading Hospital Foundation funding Tower Health Reading Cancer center has helped tremendously! So grateful for this!
I am looking into 501c3 arrangements for the new year as well possibly figuring out a program for friends to donate a robe or chemo kit (pending on this one) to mail to a friend who may not be receiving care locally! I have to figure that one out!
I thank you all for your support from the bottom of my heart! It’s a labor of love that I happy do with all my heart, but could not do it without all of your support!

Sharing my last 2023 Robe for Radiation update!

Evening everyone! Putting together some ideas for next year. To keep you up dated! A- I am hoping to get official nonprofit status. It’s just little ole me, so a “board” for a 501 May require begging some friends, but there is another option I am looking into. It’s obvious that this little “once and done” project continues to grow. So, I need to investigate this. I’ll keep you posted! This will allow some greater flexibility in hosting fundraisers, applying for grants etc. B- I am starting to get more requests from people wanting to send robes to friends recently diagnosed. So, I am thinking through ways to accomplish this. Right now, I only provide robes to local cancer center patients, and the occasional friend of a friend. I am considering an option, which may require paying my son to make me a website, that I could send a robe “package” by request and a donation. Would this be something you’d be interested in? Not sure how it will be vetted. Also considering a “chemo” package as well. What I see online right now are very expensive. So problem solving that, and considering maybe just a simple package of lap blanket, warm socks, lotion and lip balm. Both would include personal notes.
So, I am trying to grow, without overwhelming myself! So, for now, keep spreading the word for donations for my “little” project! I get at least one note every few weeks from a survivor who received a robe, and reactions are always “it brought tears to my eyes”, “I love it, it made such a difference”…so every little bit helps friends! For these notes a,one, I will keep doing this for absolutely as long as possible!
So for now, Robes is wrapped up (teehee, see what I did there?!) for the year! When I say I am grateful for each and every dollar and people behind them, I am not exaggerating! Here’s to touching even more survivors in the new year! See you in 2024!
