As the seasons change, we’re reminded that God is always working—even when we can’t see it.

Over the weeks, we’ve watched kids grow in confidence, make changes in their behaviors, and build beautiful connections with their horses.

God created horses with hearts that can reach places we sometimes can’t as humans. There’s something so special about watching a child connect with a horse, build trust, and begin to grow.

Sometimes we get to see the changes. Sometimes we don’t.

But we can trust that God is working in ways we can’t see.

One of our mentors found a little kitten on the road near the ranch before a session.

It came to the ranch, got a belly full of food, found a warm, comforting spot, and proceeded to nap through all of our sessions.

Sometimes a safe place, a full belly, and a little love can make such a difference.

We are so thankful for mentors with BIG hearts. They show up, they love well, and most importantly, they all love Jesus.

Maybe this little kitten knew exactly where it needed to be.

Corrie ten Boom was pretty smart. She’s quoted as saying, “If the devil can’t make you bad, he’ll make you busy.”

We’re trying to have a few slower days at the ranch. Taking time to soak up the colors, enjoy some rides, breathe in the cooler temperatures, and just be still.

Sometimes we don’t need to do more. We just need to slow down and enjoy what God has already given us.

Rip is a little silly, a lot of personality, and apparently has VERY strong feelings about apple c***r vinegar.

We’re not entirely sure what makes Rip tick, but we do know he keeps us laughing—and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

But Tango is more than just a horse with a unique look. She reminds us that being different is okay. We don’t all have to look the same, act the same, or fit the mold.

Tango is uniquely and wonderfully made—and she has an amazing heart to go with it.

Sometimes I look at the volunteers God has brought to this ranch and just think… wow.

You showed up not knowing what to expect. You gave your time, your energy, your patience, and most importantly, your heart.

You loved on kids. You listened. You encouraged. You laughed. You helped when things didn’t go as planned. You stepped in when we needed an extra hand.

You may not always see the difference you are making, but you are making a difference.

These kids may remember the horses and the fun, but I pray they remember the people who showed up and loved them.

Thank you for being part of this. Thank you for saying yes. Thank you for being difference makers.

I am so grateful for every one of you....including wranglers!!

Sometimes you just have to stop and look around.

A beautiful sunrise, the horses standing in the pasture, and another day at the ranch.

God’s creation is a masterpiece. And you're also His masterpiece, don't forget that

Every color. Every detail. Every horse. Every child. Every one of us.

He didn’t make mistakes. He created each of us on purpose and with purpose.

Sometimes we just need to slow down long enough to see it.

His masterpiece. His creation. His plan.

Meet Tango!

Our newest Shine On horse is a Curly! Her naturally curly coat is what makes her hypoallergenic and so unique. Plus, she has one blue eye!

As Shine On Youth Ranch grows, God keeps bringing us the right horses for the kids He sends our way. We are so grateful for how He is growing this little ranch and for everything He has planned for it!

God made Tango different on purpose—and He did the same with each of us. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14
