Sometimes people are a lot like a thistle.

On the outside, the prickles can look sharp and hurtful, but hidden in the middle is still something beautiful. A lot of us carry scars, hurt, and struggles that make us put up walls to protect ourselves.

But God never meant for us to stay hidden behind our pain. He calls us to bring those hurts into the light so His grace, healing, and mercy can shine through.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5

Our Shine On Youth Ranch volunteer training went so, so good last night!

What a blessing to gather with people who love the Lord, love horses, and have a heart for serving others. We all carry worries, stress, and anxiety at times, but there is something special about being around horses.

We are so thankful for each volunteer who is willing to share their time, talents, and love with the youth who come to the ranch. God is building something beautiful here, and we can't wait to see what He has planned.

"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." — 1 Peter 5:7

SUMMER IS COMING SOON AT SHINE ON YOUTH RANCH

The countdown to summer nights at the ranch is on! We are getting ready for a season filled with horses, laughter, friendships, learning, and making memories that will last long after summer ends.

We can’t wait to welcome families to the ranch and kick off an amazing summer together!

As summer creeps in, it reminds us to slow down and enjoy the blessings God gives us every day.

At the ranch, we’re thankful for a season of mentoring kids, building confidence, and sharing the love of Jesus one ride and one conversation at a time.

He might look silly, but he’s got the biggest heart and knows just how to show up when it matters most.

Did you see the moon this weekend?… so bright it almost looked like the sun.

Out here at the ranch, it lit everything up in the most peaceful, quiet way. A reminder that even in the dark, there’s still light.

Like a message in a bottle… sometimes the quiet is where we hear Him most.

Out here at the ranch, away from the noise of the world, there’s a stillness. In the beauty of His creation, in the soft moments, in the space to just be—God speaks.

You don’t have to strain to hear Him. He’s already there.

Horse hugs are the best.

If you know me, you know I’m a hugger… and honestly, horses might be my favorite.

They just stand there with you. Quiet. No fixing. No talking over you. Just… there.

Warm. Soft. Steady.

The best listeners I know.

And somehow, they always know exactly what you need.

Nothing quite like a horse hug.
