For 42 years, our community has gathered in prayer and reverence for the land. La Caminata is more than a walk. It is a commitment to protect sacred space, honor Indigenous spirituality, and stand in relationship with the Earth.

We welcome volunteers to help prepare for the ceremony, and donations are deeply appreciated as we continue stewarding 400 acres of Ozark wilderness with care.

In case of severe weather, we will gather on Sunday, April 12 instead.

Message us for details, volunteer information, and directions. We hope you will walk with us.

In October, our board team was honored to participate in the Grantmakers for Southern Progress Convening in Little Rock, AR. This gathering brought together funders and community organizations dedicated to strengthening support for marginalized communities across the South.

As part of the opening, our president and spiritual leader, María Cristina Moroles, was invited to offer a traditional ceremony, joined by Jennifer Moroles and Karen Milla. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our cultural practices and to connect with partners who are committed to uplifting and resourcing communities that have historically faced barriers.

Thank you to everyone who continues to build pathways of care, resilience, and collaboration.

María Cristina Moroles will offer the opening prayer and land recognition ceremony at the Grantmakers for Southern Progress (GSP) Convening, taking place October 14–16 in Little Rock.

GSP brings together funders and movement leaders dedicated to building a more just and thriving South—one grounded in the power, wisdom, and resilience of Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities.

We are honored that Arco Iris Earth Care Project was invited to be represented in this vital gathering for equity and transformation across the US Southern region.

Echoes of La Caminata 2025

Feet met earth, breath met sky.
We walked the old paths with new prayers,
guided by the rhythm of wind and wing.
Each step a blessing, each pause a remembering.
These images hold what words cannot—
a trace of the sacred, carried in the quiet of the land.

La Caminata – Just Two Weeks Away!

We can’t wait to gather with you on April 5, 2025, from 12 PM to 5 pm at the Wild Magnolia Land Trust in Boxley, Arkansas, as we celebrate 41 years of walking the land we steward. This traditional ceremony is a beautiful time to come together in prayer for the well-being and protection of Mother Earth and all our relations.

If you need directions, we’ll be meeting at Hwy 21 (2742NC), at the Boxley Baptist Church sign 11:30am before heading to the land.

Just a quick heads-up—we’re a bit short-staffed this year, so unfortunately we won’t be able to provide shuttling or host dinner at Santuario Arco Iris. Please plan ahead and bring anything you might need to stay comfortable. We appreciate your understanding.

Even with these small changes, the heart of La Caminata remains the same—we’re so grateful for this time together and can’t wait to walk and connect with you all. Reach out for details and directions—we’d love to see you there!
