Ellsworth/Box Elder Lions Club

Ellsworth/Box Elder Lions Club The Ellsworth/Box Elder Lions Club is a non-profit organization that helps the local community and school district. http://www.lionsclubs.org/EN/index.php

The Ellsworth/Box Elder Lions Club was started in November of 1959. We are part of Lions Clubs International. Our 45,000 clubs and 1.35 million members make us the world's largest service club organization. Our dues and fund raisers help many worthwhile causes. We can help needy students with eyeglasses, hearing aids and diabetes screening. We also collect old eyeglasses, hearing aids, and cell ph

ones for recycling. There are a number of drop boxes around the community. We help fund the local American Legion Christmas Baskets, provide scholarships to diabetes camp, and give scholarships to Douglas seniors that want to continue their education. We also help Douglas High School clubs and activities with their fundraisers by providing them with prizes and supplies. The Ellsworth/Box Elder Lions Club is again selling their Football books. This is one of our main fundraiser. Thanks to all the past supporters. The way it works is the book has the 16 Monday night games in it plus the 4 quarters of the Super Bowl for a total of 20 chances to win. You have a chance to win $50 on each Monday night game. You could win from $25 to $100 on the super bowl. There are only 100 books sold and each has a different number. Even if you don't watch football or understand how it works we call the winners so no worry there. The cost of the book is $25. Please consider buying a book. The first Monday night game is just around the corner, September, 14th.

Monday, February 16, was the final Chuck A Duck at Douglas High School. This year the Track Team handled it all. Coach Bill Langston and the track team was happy with the money they made. The winner of the iPad mini was Bailey Clark, a 3rd grader from Francis Case building at Douglas School. She was very excited to win such a great prize.

The TV raffle went well. We had a good time at the Super Bowl Party at the American Legion, Post 315. The winner of the 50" TV was Charlie and Darla of Box Elder. They supported the Lions and Legion Clubs by buying numerous chances on the TV. They deserved to win it. But to our surprise they donated it to the American Legion to replace the much smaller TV. This will be a great addition and will make watching football and NASCAR even better. THANKS A BUNCH, Charlie and Darla!!!!! Please help us say thanks by buying them a drink when you see them.
