A special shoutout to Sarah Nagel for her continued dedication to supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs throughout southwest North Dakota. Her guidance and commitment help local business owners turn their ideas into strong, successful ventures.

A love for gardening and a desire to serve her hometown inspired Cheryl Dix to open Rustic Orchid Floral in Hettinger. With guidance from Sarah Nagel, ND SBDC Business Advisor in Bowman, Cheryl developed financial projections, prepared for financing, and built a plan to move her business forward.

Thank you, Sarah, for helping small business owners and entrepreneurs across southwest North Dakota turn ideas into well-planned ventures.

The Deputy Director will help lead major economic and community development work across Bowman County and Southwest North Dakota, including projects related to housing, infrastructure, business development, community investment, and regional growth.

This role is for someone who can take a complicated project, create a clear path forward, and keep people moving toward the goal. The Deputy Director will have significant responsibility, strong community and regional relationships, and the opportunity to help shape the future direction of both organizations.

Funding opportunities are currently available through the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP), providing resources to strengthen healthcare services, improve patient outcomes, and expand access to care for rural communities across North Dakota.

𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲: 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗮𝘁 𝟱:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠 𝗖𝗧
Approximately $40 million is available statewide to help eligible rural hospitals purchase and install clinical equipment that enhances patient care and expands healthcare services. Funding may support equipment needs in emergency care, imaging, surgery, obstetrics, oncology, rehabilitation, and other clinical service areas.

This funding opportunity supports the acquisition of mobile mammography units that can bring breast cancer screening services directly to rural and underserved communities. Mobile screening services help reduce barriers to care and increase access to lifesaving preventive screenings closer to home.

Funding is now available through the Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG) program.

The RBDG program supports economic development and job creation in rural communities by providing grant funding to eligible organizations through two funding categories:
- Business Opportunity Grants
- Business Enterprise Grants

Funding can be used for a variety of business and community development projects that benefit rural areas and help strengthen local economies.

A new $40 million Rural Health Transformation funding opportunity will help rural hospitals upgrade clinical equipment, strengthen emergency and specialty care services, and improve access to care close to home for North Dakotans.

Approximately 20 awards averaging about $2 million each are expected to support equipment including imaging technology, emergency stabilization tools, surgical equipment, labor and delivery technology, oncology systems and more.
