As we get ready for another busy tourism season, Roosevelt Custer encourages local businesses to take a few minutes to update their online information.

Many travelers plan their trips online before they arrive. They search for places to eat, stay, shop, and things to do. We encourage business owners to make sure your business hours, contact information, photos, and services are current on your website and social media pages. Keeping your information updated makes it easier for visitors to find and choose your business.

Tourism plays an important role in our local economy. When local businesses do well, our communities benefit too. By working together and showcasing all that our region has to offer, we can help make every visitor's experience enjoyable and memorable.

𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 & 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬!

Funding is now available through the Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG) program.

The RBDG program supports economic development and job creation in rural communities by providing grant funding to eligible organizations through two funding categories:
- Business Opportunity Grants
- Business Enterprise Grants

Funding can be used for a variety of business and community development projects that benefit rural areas and help strengthen local economies.

• June 15, 2026, by 4:30 p.m. local time for SECD applications

This is a great opportunity through the Rural Health Transformation Program to help rural healthcare facilities strengthen services, upgrade equipment, and improve access to care for North Dakotans.

Help bring high-quality healthcare closer to home across rural North Dakota.

A new $40 million Rural Health Transformation funding opportunity will help rural hospitals upgrade clinical equipment, strengthen emergency and specialty care services, and improve access to care close to home for North Dakotans.

Approximately 20 awards averaging about $2 million each are expected to support equipment including imaging technology, emergency stabilization tools, surgical equipment, labor and delivery technology, oncology systems and more.

Applications are due June 30, 2026, at 5 p.m. CT.

Roosevelt Custer Regional Council has been awarded funding through the Rural Business Development Grant (RDBG) to launch a new regional initiative focused on supporting and strengthening local businesses across Southwestern North Dakota.

The Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E) Initiative will help communities better connect with businesses, identify needs and opportunities, and provide valuable tools, workforce insights, and market data to support long-term growth.

This collaborative effort will also create a shared regional system to better track business trends, job openings, and economic opportunities across multiple counties.
