Update: At this time, investigators can confirm that at least 12 individuals were shot. 10 victims are reported to be in stable condition, while two remain in critical condition.
The Toledo Police Department continues to actively search for the suspect(s) involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call or text Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111. Tipsters may remain anonymous.

At approximately 5:37 p.m., Toledo Police officers responded to a report of a person shot in the area of Delaware Avenue and Glenwood Avenue near the Old West End Festival. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple shooting victims. Many victims have been transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment.

The Toledo Police Department is actively searching for the suspect or suspects involved.

The investigation currently includes scenes in the area of Delaware Avenue and Robinwood Avenue. Residents and visitors are asked to avoid the area and expect a significant police presence as officers continue their search and investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Today marks five years since the loss of Braintree Police K9 Kitt, a loyal partner, protector, and beloved member of our community.

Kitt served with unwavering dedication alongside his handler, Officer Billy Cushing, helping to keep our neighborhoods safe while touching the lives of countless residents. Though Kitt's watch ended far too soon, his impact continues to be felt every day by those who knew him and by a community that has never forgotten him.

The bond between a police officer and his K9 partner is unlike any other. Kitt was more than a police dog—he was a teammate, a guardian, and a trusted friend. While the pain of that loss never truly disappears, our founder and president Billy Cushing has ensured that Kitt's legacy continues to make a difference.

Through the K9 Kitt Foundation, tragedy has been transformed into purpose. The foundation honors Kitt's memory by supporting law enforcement K9 teams, promoting community outreach, assisting charitable causes, and strengthening the connection between police officers and the communities they serve. What began as a tribute to one extraordinary K9 has grown into a lasting force for good.

As we remember Kitt on this fifth anniversary, we also celebrate the legacy he left behind—a legacy of service, loyalty, courage, and unconditional devotion. We thank you all for carrying that legacy forward and ensuring that Kitt's name continues to inspire others.

The direction of a warrior is always forward. K9 Kitt may be gone, but he will never be forgotten as we move forward with our mission in Kitt’s name.
