Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we begin wrapping up another outstanding school year, it’s never too early to start planning for the next! The WEMS PTSA will be accepting nominations for the 2026–2027 Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council Parent Representative from Tuesday, March 24 - March 31. Voting will take place April 1 – April 3.

The SBDM Council is made up of the school principal, three teachers, and two parents. This committee plays an important role in setting school policies for the upcoming year and making decisions that impact the overall environment and academic success of our students.
Minority Representation Requirement:
All Kentucky schools with a minority population of 8% or more are required to have minority representation on the SBDM Council, either through a parent or teacher member. If a minority candidate is not nominated or elected during the regular election, a special election will be held to ensure this requirement is met.
