The Beta Upsilon Alpha chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College has earned second place in the regional competition for its College Project, recognizing the chapter’s commitment to student success, engagement and service.

Dr. Trawick’s visible support of student leadership, academic excellence, and opportunity has strengthened the PTK experience and helped more students connect with scholarships, mentorship, and leadership development.

Come celebrate with Beta Upsilon Alpha on our 5 Star status for 2025 and our Reach reward for new members. Show this post to the server to help us pay for this year's college project. We spent over $600 on food for SKYCTC students and held a cooking class in December 2025.

📢 Veterans, we want to hear from you.

The Beta Upsilon Alpha Chapter at SKYCTC is launching an Honors in Action research project focused on the lived experiences of veterans and the factors that may contribute to su***de risk in the veteran community.

Through personal testimonies and analyzing collected quantitative data, our Chapter hopes to go beyond the numbers to try to identify mental health trends, evaluate the effectiveness of current veteran programs, and uncover any gaps that may still exist, because even one overlooked story could mean a life we can help save.

The BUA Chapter has created a comprehensive 18-question survey that is designed for retired armed service veterans, which focuses on well-being and lived experiences and can be completed by following this link (posted below) and sending your answers by email to Alex Smith at [email protected].

However, we need as many responses as we can get by December 9 so we can analyze them alongside current mental health data and complete our research paper before our December 12 deadline.

Join us tomorrow for SGA's Fall Festival on Tuesday, October 28, from 10AM-2PM! Festivities will be located outside in The Grove by Building L on the Main Campus.

Come out and play a variety of carnival-style games and get free snacks during the event, provided by the Grove Café! All students will receive 10 free tickets to play the games. Additional tickets may be purchased for .25 or 5 for $1.00. See your KCTCS email for more details!
