Kentucky Girls State is a 5 day interactive program in state and local government. Participants establish mock governments at the city and state levels. At the state level, participants elect officials and develop the executive and legislative branches of government. The judiciary branch is covered through speaker presentations at the state and lower levels.

This is so bittersweet 🥺🥺

Girls State is about many things. But mainly, it is about sisterhood. The bonds that these women have made with one another is truly one of a kind. They have learned from each other, listened to diverse opinions, gained more confidence, and have picked one another up when they felt down. They will never be a stranger, and they will always take the risk. The Commonwealth of Kentucky is in capable hands with these ladies. They will each change the world in one way or another, and they have made their mark on KY Girls State history 🩵

Yesterday, we had an amazing day full of debate! These girls grew their parliamentary procedure skills & brought thoughtful insight to the legislation they presented. We are proud of all of the bills that passed, and even prouder for them putting themselves out there to speak on issues that are important to them!

Today is our last full day together, and we want to take the time to formally introduce all of our delegates. We were blessed with the largest group we have had since 2020 and we are so happy to be with them.

These ladies are smart and resilient and will do great things in their future. They have made a mark on KY Girls State history and we will be so sad to leave them tomorrow.
