NECAC clarifies utility assistance donation

NECAC is clarifying a news release it recently issued concerning Ameren's $4 million donation that will help qualifying disadvantaged people pay their bills across Missouri and Illinois.
Ameren Missouri customers can participate in bill payment programs in addition to the summer portion of the NECAC-administered Energy Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP), a federal effort that provides up to $300 to those who qualify. The programs are Ameren Energy Relief Grant, Dollar More and Keeping Cool.
Ameren customers in Lewis, Lincoln, Monroe, Montgomery, Pike, Ralls, Randolph, St. Charles and Warren counties should make appointments with their NECAC County Service Centers to find out how to qualify and the amounts available.
Ameren recently made the $4 million donation to Community Action Agencies across Missouri and Illinois. The deadline to apply for the summer portion of ECIP is Sept. 30.
