Interested in what it means to be a feminist? Concerned about sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, classism, ageism, ableism, or other forms of discrimination? Looking for a community of free-thinking, socially-minded people? If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, check out FORCE on Wednesday nights at 9PM in the BGSU Women's Center (107 Hanna Hall). If you didn't answer "yes," come
anyway! FORCE is an activism organization dedicated to improving our campus and community. Our focus is on reproductive justice, sexual assault, domestic violence, and sexual education, through an intersectional lens – that means we cover a range of related topics at our meetings that address classism, racism, homophobia, ableism, etc. We have weekly, informative meetings where there is a unique topic, every Wednesday at 9:00 pm in Hanna Hall. Some of our opportunities include organizing on campus with campaigns, which looks like protesting, collecting petitions, and rallying. We do campus awareness events such as Take Back the Night, where we team up with other student organizations to build power against street harassment. This is in addition to our annual Va**na Monologues, the famous feminist play and one of our largest events of the year. We do lobbying work, at conferences and at the state house. FORCE also does traveling, local and national. FORCE has opportunities for growth, and is a great resume builder. We provide (free!) trips to conferences to Pittsburgh, Washington DC, Kansas, and more, to learn more about activist strategies and for skill building. We also have service events and fundraising like the Trick or Treat for the Cocoon. You can also learn a ton about the world and make friends! We’re awesome! President: Angelo Andersky
