Last week, our group had an amazing experience touring Med Center Health! πŸ₯✨

During the visit, we had the opportunity to learn about several important departments and how they all work together to provide quality patient care for our community. ❀️

We visited the pharmacy and learned how medications are prepared, stored, and distributed safely to patients. πŸ’Š We also toured the laboratory, where we saw different tests being performed and even learned how bacteria are grown and analyzed to help identify infections and guide the best treatment options. πŸ”¬πŸ¦

Another great part of the tour was visiting the blood bank and learning about blood storage, inventory management, and the importance of maintaining an adequate blood supply to save lives. 🩸

We also explored the emergency department and gained insight into how healthcare professionals respond quickly to urgent and critical situations. πŸš‘βš•οΈ

One of the highlights was the radiology department, where we learned about X-ray technology and how healthcare teams use X-rays to diagnose injuries and medical conditions. 🩻

Overall, the tour was incredibly informative and inspiring. We are grateful for the opportunity to better understand the many dedicated professionals and departments that work together every day to care for patients at Med Center Health. Thank you for hosting us and for your commitment to serving our community! πŸ™ŒπŸ‘

On Saturday, March 28, we hosted an inspiring event πŸŽ“βœ¨ focused on college readiness and the impact of higher education on refugees’ futures πŸŒπŸ“š.

We were honored to welcome our guest speaker, John Sunnygard, Associate Provost for WKU Global Learning and International Affairs at WKU 🏫, who shared valuable insights πŸ’‘ and encouraged our students to pursue their academic goals πŸŽ―πŸ“–.

Our students actively participated πŸ™‹πŸ½β€β™‚οΈπŸ™‹πŸ½β€β™€οΈ, learned more about higher education πŸŽ“, and explored opportunities at WKU 🏫. It was a meaningful experience that motivated them to think about their future with confidence and hope πŸŒŸπŸ’™.
