The KVB is a 501 (c) (3) organization. Our Mission Statement:
Kentucky Veterans Brigade (KVB) unites civilian patriots with local veterans to bring honor, stability, and support to veterans in need.

4. Placed 1 veteran into gym memberships at Work-Out Anytime in Bowling Green, KY
5. Donated left over chili from Chili Challenge Fundraiser to two local addiction recovery clinics.
6. Banked funds to place three additional veterans into a one-year gym membership. Awaiting veterans to sign up for the gym memberships.
March
1. Veteran in need, Home Freezer Failure. Purchased and replaced home chest freezer. Purchased food supplies to restock freezer.
2. Veteran in need, shower failed in home of veteran on Home Hospice Care. Hired skilled Veteran to identify problem, purchased shower replacement parts, skilled Veteran removed failed shower faucet and replaced with new.
3. Participated in Community Action ‘s Chili Cook Off to help Community Action raise funds to support local people in need of assistance.
4. Donated leftover spaghetti/sauce/bread sticks from Pasta Wars fundraiser to two local drug addiction clinics.
5. Kentucky Veteran’s Brigade and local volunteers donated groceries and delivered to a Bowling Green family with 2 autistic children that just moved out of homeless shelter into home of their own.
6. Banked funds to place three additional veterans into a one-year gym membership. Awaiting veterans to sign up for the gym memberships.
April
1. Hired licensed electrician to assist Veteran with Home electrical issues. Veterans home passed electrical inspection.
2. Operation Mattress Pad, Hillvue Heights and Kentucky Veteran’s Brigade will be receiving a donation of 2000 mattress pads. Kentucky Veteran’s Brigade leased 26 ft. U-Haul truck and provided loading, unloading, sorting. Bluegrass Supply Chain is providing a 53’ Tractor Trailer and travel at no cost. KVB will unload and sort the Bluegrass load also. KVB will be distributing the mattress pads to veterans, veteran facilities, Hospice, Hosparus, drug addiction clinics, and other facilities that assist people in need.
3. Partnered with Lift for The 22 to place two transitioning veterans into one-year gym memberships at Work-Out Anytime in Glasgow, KY
4. Kentucky Veteran’s Brigade supplied an emergency food distribution to a veteran family of 7 in Edmonson County. KVB also sourced a donation of a kitchen stove and installed it for this family. KVB is continuing to work with this family to help fill child and infant needs.
5. Kentucky Veteran’s Brigade assisted a Barren County Veteran Family by paying their water bill.
6. Kentucky Veteran’s Brigade will be adding 7 additional veterans to our free gym program as of April 25. This will bring the total to: 12 veterans at TFC in BG 1 veteran at Work-Out Anytime BG. 2 veterans at WO Anytime Glasgow.
7. Banked funds to place 2 additional veterans into a one-year gym membership. Awaiting veterans to sign up for the gym memberships.
May
1. Project Mattress Pad, donated mattress pads to American Legion Post 23, Good Deeds Club, Andrea’s Mission, Andreas Mission for Men, Multiple Veterans, and 6 attendees of the Roosters and 6 attendees of the Smiths Grove Baptist Church Sliders Event.
2. Joint effort with other veterans support organizations, KVB donated $250 to a Veteran’s Widow to bring her back to current and keep her from being evicted from her home.
3. Partnered with Southern Kentucky Veteran’s Council to have a joint fundraiser at Roosters Restaurant in Bowling Green, KY. SOKY Veterans Council provides scholarships and support to WKU’s Veterans Upward Bound Program.
4. Partnered with Total Fitness Connection to bring Zumba on the Turf. Donations and tshirt sales accumulate enough funds to sponsor a veteran to our Veterans Free Gym Program. Funds were deposited into account waiting on veterans to apply.
5. Assisted veteran’s family with obtaining and installing a kitchen stove.
6. Assisted veteran family with septic system issues.
7. The Slider Games Event at Smiths Grove Baptist Church resulted in establishing the first rural Warren County Veterans Assistance Pantry. Donations of food, clothing, hygiene items, and a shelf. The event also resulted in raising $360 to support the emergency needs of veterans within a 20 mile radius of Smiths Grove.
8. Collaborated with veteran to repair widow of a veteran with repairs to her bathroom.
9. Collaborated services and supplies needed for several veterans (walkers, Hospice in home visit to veteran by veterans).
June
1. Operation Mattress Pad- donated pads through American Legion Post 23
2. Provided funds to pump out veterans septic tank
3. Assisted veteran with funds to retain his storage building, filled veterans fuel tank on truck, purchased veteran phone card.
4. Paid for 4 veterans gym memberships at Total Fitness Connection.
5. Provided veteran family with donated air conditioner from other veteran
6. Emergency food response from donor to Logan County Veteran. Additional food response from KVB food bank later in week. Paid veterans electric bill in order for electric to stay on until veteran receives check.
7. Emergency food response from KVB Smiths Grove Pantry to civilian family of 4 in Edmonson County. Family has two small children that had no food.
8. Emergency food response from KVB Smiths Grove Pantry to civilian family of 5 in eastern Warren County. Family has 4 children that had no food.
9. Donor assistance in purchasing and installation of handicap assistance bars in shower of Butler County Veteran.
10. Assisted veteran that had recently taken possession of a niece. Supplied food and other necessities to help them get on their feet while getting their niece stabilized in the home.
11. Participated in Total Fitness Connection’s Mega Yoga on the Turf.
12. Volunteered with Feeding America, Kentucky's Heartland with their monthly distribution at Bowling Green, KY.
13. Continued Operation Mattress Pad distributing mattress pads to veterans and veteran’s assistance agencies through American Legion Post-23.
July
1. Collaborated with organization assisting disabled veteran. Supplied donated walker to partnering organization.
2. Volunteers collaborated with other veteran organizations to provide bus tickets for a veteran and his wife to travel home to Indiana.
3. Volunteers collaborated to supply infant supplies to a veteran’s child and fuel money for the veteran to travel to a new job during his first week of work.
4. Assisted veteran with funds to help him return to work after an accident kept him off work for two years.
5. Collaborated with Veterans Family – Veteran in nursing facility- could not return to home- due to wheelchair requirement. Apartment found, volunteers moved veteran’s belongings to new handicap apartment from former apartment.
6. Veteran in hospital, got evicted, volunteers collaborated with his daughter at Hospitality house.
This task is still ongoing.
7. Fed 3 homeless veterans – 2 different occasions @ local restaurants.
8. Collaborated with veteran to ensure care of his mother while he was out of town for medical
appointments.
9. Placed 2 additional veterans into gym program at Total Fitness Connection.
10. Launched Delayed Entry Program (DEP) and Poolee Program at Total Fitness Connection.
Placed one Kentucky National Guard and two United States Army members into a free gym
membership program in order for them to have a great location to work with their DEP and
Poolee clients to help improve their readiness for Basic Training.
11. Continued Operation Mattress Pad distributing mattress pads to veterans and veterans
assistance agencies through American Legion Post-23 and local veteran volunteers.
12. Participated in Total Fitness Connection’s Tabata on the Turf Fundraiser. Donations by
attendees of the event equaled $74.
13. Assisted veteran family in Barren County. Veteran had lost their job. Veteran, spouse, and five children needing food. KVB Representative met family at grocery store and purchased $175 in food supplies for family.
August
1. Delivered infant clothing (donated by veteran in Simpson Co.) to a family in need in Butler Co.
2. Utilized our Smith Grove Pantry to assist veteran in need from Oakland KY.
3. Purchased food products for veteran in Oakland KY.
4. Assisted veteran in his pursuit of higher education by contributing to his tuition at SKYCTC Warren Co.
September.
KVB received a donation of 54 Cases of canned vegetables. This donation was shared with the local VA Office; the rest was placed in our KVB supported Food Pantry at Smiths Grove Pantry.
KVB participated in the Bowling Green, KY VA CBOC Veterans Appreciation Event. We handed out information and sold 7 KVB T-shirts resulting in $105 of donations.
KVB, partnering with Jim Johnson Nissan/Hyundai in Bowling Green, KY, launched KVB’s Inaugural Backpacks For Vets Supply Drive on September 8, 2018. The kickoff event was held at the Jim Johnson Hyundai building and resulted in $240 in monetary donations as well as over $500 in food, hygiene, and personal products donated.
Notification of traveling veteran needing assistance for gas and food. KVB partnered with the Salvation Army in Bowling Green, KY. Salvation Army provided the food and KVB donated $92 for fuel and supplies to the Salvation Army to insure the Veteran would reach his destination.
Operation Mattress Pad has concluded for 2018. Over 2000 mattress pads were distributed to veterans throughout Southcentral KY through various organizations and individually to veterans and veteran families.
KVB volunteers partnered with the Glasgow DAV to supply and deliver a washer and dryer to a veteran in Barren County.
October.
Senior Box Program Meeting with Feeding America.
KVB and CVMA Roosters All You Can Eat Buffet Fundraiser resulted in $980 total split between the two organizations.
Met with Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)Advisory Council for possible partnership between the two organizations.
What The Ruck event cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control with outside vender.
November.
KVB invited to AARP of Bowling Green, KY meeting to describe our mission and discuss how we can possibly work together in our community.
Meeting with Warren County Schools to discuss children of veterans backpack needs. KVB may be able to assist the school in taking on the financial responsibility of those children in the program.

Assisted veteran family in Barren County with food needs.
Received donation from Modern Woodmen of America of cold weather supply items.
Partnered with local business and assisted a veteran family with their utility bills in Barren County Veteran family.
December.

Supplied two veteran families with donated turkeys and food from Smiths Grove Pantry.
Provided veteran Family in Morgantown, KY with Thanksgiving Day meal items. Turkey Provided by local Preacher ‘Brian’.
KVB Fun Day Sunday event at Southern Lanes resulted in $580 donated to KVB.
Presentation to Bowling Green Warren County Regional Airport concerning our May event at the Hangar. The Runway Project event plan.
Presentation to Aviation Heritage Park Bowling Green, KY concerning our partnership during The Runway Project event in May.
Donated food & clothing (in a backpack) to Salvation Army Bowling Green, KY to assist with veteran needs at that organization.
January 2019.
Launched planning meetings for the Our Future Heroes Pageant scheduled for March 16.
Placed all supplies donated during veterans supply drive in Smiths Grove Pantry.
Partnered with other organizations to pay rent for veteran family in Bowling Green, KY to keep them in housing.

Assisted veteran family that just become housed with various pieces of furniture and home supplies.
Assisted VA CBOC in moving donated Sears shelving & clothing to VA Clothing Store located at Fairview Plaza (this is a free store to all veterans with proper ID)
Assisted female veteran that had just became housed with food and hygiene items.
Assisted VA Clothing Supply Store with organizing stored supplies.
Assisted homeless veteran with food & hygiene items as well as organized a meeting with VA representatives to obtain housing.
KVB held their quarterly Roosters All You Can Eat Buffet Fundraiser.

KVB gave a presentation to Bowling Green Noon Lions Club, which resulted in a donation to KVB.

5. Partnered with Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association and Kentucky Vets Organization to help get a stranded veteran (vehicle breakdown) from central KY to his home in.
6. KVB received monetary donation from Jim Johnson Nissan.
7. Continued planning of Our Future Heroes Pageant.
8. Approved by Bowling Green Warren County Regional Airport to have The Runway Project Event in the Airport Hangar on May 2, 2019.
