The Bowling Green Schools Foundation is so grateful to have Stacey Higgins as a member of our board!
We’re proud to share that Crim Elementary teacher Stacey Higgins has been nominated for National Life Group’s 2025–26 LifeChanger of the Year Award!
Mrs. Higgins was nominated for creating a positive, supportive classroom built on respect, encouragement, and belief in every student’s potential. Through her “Power of Yet” mindset and her motto, “Everyone makes mistakes, that’s why pencils have erasers,” she helps students see challenges as opportunities to grow.
Her impact extends beyond the classroom through her leadership, mentorship of future teachers, and service on numerous district and community committees. Higgins has an extensive record of professional leadership and service. She was named an Ohio Milken Educator Award winner in 2008 and was nominated for Bowling Green Teacher of the Year in 2002. She currently co-chairs 1BookBG (Last year, she and Michelle Thomas accepted the I Love BG award for 1BookBG from the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce). She serves on the Bowling Green Schools Foundation Board, participates on district PBIS, ELA, Math, and Equity committees, and is a trained mentor-teacher. Higgins has mentored 13 consecutive student teachers, supports numerous BGSU preservice teachers, and serves on the BGSU Teacher Advisory Board. She has also worked as an adjunct instructor, served on state assessment committees, and remains active in the Crim Elementary PTO and community volunteer efforts.
