Beautiful Kids Independent Shakespeare is an organization that has been in existence since 1997. Originally founded by a group of undergraduate students who wanted to perform in a summer show, BKIS has thrived for 17 years by being passed down from one generation of students to the next. Values:
-Education. To give those committed to theatre, particularly those of younger standing, opportunity to
expand their production experience. Also, to provide training for theatre practitioners in understanding how to interpret, stage, and perform Shakespeare's work.
-Community. To expose the Greater Bowling Green area to the works of William Shakespeare and provide the community with a quality Shakespearean production.
-Preservation. To pass on the traditions of quality Shakespearean theatre that BKIS is known for.
-Professionalism. To teach theatre practitioners how to create theatre in a professional manner including fundraising, public relations, working as a production team, and utilizing the correct chain of command.
-Creativity. To explore new ways of performing Shakespeare in exciting ways, whether through setting, adaptation, costumes, acting styles, costumes, or other production choices.
