The Doctors Prabodh and Daksha Mehta, long-time friends of The Center, have established the Mehta Fund for Excellence for the Center for Gifted Studies with a gift of $100,000. This endowed fund will be used to carry forward the important work of The Center.
Prabodh and Daksha have been physicians in Elizabethtown where they raised their two daughters, both of whom are now physicians. Today, Sneha is a rheumatologist living in Philadelphia, and Priya is a cardiologist living in Chicago. Sneha and Priya participated in programming offered by The Center.
When the Mehta family moved to Elizabethtown, Daksha came to the Hill to visit Dr. Julia Roberts. From that time on, she was actively involved with The Center, serving on the Advisory Board, and participating in KAGE activities as well as supporting education in Elizabethtown.
"It has been a great pleasure to know and work with Dr. Julia Roberts and The Center for Gifted Studies for almost three decades. Both our daughters have benefited tremendously from various programs that they have attended. Resources for gifted education are often limited, and we feel that every child should have the opportunity to reach their maximum potential. We hope that this gift will help enhance the wonderful work that is being done at The Center," Daksha and Prabodh Mehta.
Each gift for The Center for Gifted Studies helps create a bright future for The Center for Gifted Studies at Western Kentucky University.
