Meet the Facilitator of Hunger Free BG and the moderator for the upcoming event.
Dave Miner received a BS and a Ph.D. in Chemistry. He had a 28 year career at Eli Lilly and Co. where he held management roles in Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, Project Management, and Quality Assurance.
As a ‘full time volunteer’ for 17 years Dave has provided leadership for multiple organizations working to end hunger.
Dave has been active with Bread for the World for over 30 years at the local and national levels as a grassroots advocate, local organizer, national board member, and fundraiser. He led efforts in Indiana and sits on the national Board of Directors in Washington, DC., where he served for six years as chair of the board.
Dave was the founding chair of Indy Hunger Network, a broad collaboration of the major food assistance providers, public and private, in Indianapolis. He was volunteer Executive Director for the Indianapolis Interfaith Hunger Initiative. He served on and chaired the board of the Alliance to End Hunger. He also serves on the board of Christian Theological Seminary. In 2017 he fasted for 16 days as a public witness against policy proposals that would have caused millions more children to be hungry.
Dave has been co-producer for two recent documentaries: The Working Hungry, which received a regional Emmy nomination, and Food, Insecure.
Dave and wife Robin have two grown children and two granddaughters. They are active at First Christian Church of Bowling Green.
