I know the shelf hasn't been terribly active this summer (we are in the process of moving so I haven't had much to put out myself, and it's been so hot and stormy I think most folks are understandably hiding indoors), but someone has dropped off some lovely bundles of thyme and what appears to be salvia for someone to take home :) there are also TONS of containers of all shapes and sizes.

Still have several tomato and cuke plants that need homes- they will need some trimming and TLC but once you get them in the ground or in a larger pot, they'll bounce back. The cukes might struggle with powdery mildew (which can be treated) but they're free, so take some tomato plants too and either way you'll end up harvesting free veggies! :)

Still have several tomato and cucumber plants up for grabs, as well as some ornamental grass left. It's already quite large and needs a bit of trimming but once you get it in the ground it will take off!

After an incredibly busy semester of teaching, writing and revising an MFA thesis, and momming, I am FINALLY putting a few little things out on the shelf. I had wanted to make a new sign and hang it up and all these fancy things, but I figured if I get to that, great, if not, that's ok, too.

ANYWAY, free to a good home are some pothos cuttings (in bags with wet paper towels, ready to be taken home and rooted in water or soil), a young persimmon tree looking pretty healthy, some cute little decorative planters, a planter that feels like plastic but says biodegradable (?), and a bucket full of Iris rhizomes in various stages of sprouting.

The weather is cooling and the shelf has been perpetually buried in leaves the past few weeks as I've put all my focus into raising money for school. To those who have continued to drop plants and supplies off here and there despite my not having the time or money to put into stocking the shelf, you are so appreciated!! There are a handful of rakes, hose heads, fertilizer spikes, and garden flags out today for those of you pushing through a fall garden or preparing for next year! I'll continue to leave the shelf out until it begins to freeze!
