DRUMROLL PLEASE........
The 2025 HCNA Father of the Year is.......CODY PEDIGO!!

I know I've nominated my mom before and she won but now I feel that it’s time to also nominate my dad for the best father award. There’s not a man on this planet that has sacrificed like my father has to give to the people that he loves. He has broken his back at his work risking his life, just for the smallest chance that his family will be happy and that’s all he needed to know. And even though he was away from his family and he spent all this time working, he still raised two men as best he could.

That’s why I think Cody Pedigo should be the father of the year. There’s not a more fitting candidate to me.

With summer in full swing (and a few storms behind us), junk and debris can pile up fast. So this week, Jak of Haul is giving back with free pickup—up to $150 value per household.

We are Hunters Crossing residents and a family-run crew, and this effort includes our own kids — young men learning the value of hard work, business, and giving back to the community.

Got limbs, brush, or just stuff that needs to go? We’ll take care of it.

The 2025 HCNA Mother of the Year is.........BRENDA GIL!!

Hello,
I believe my mother should win the 2025 HCNA Mother of the Year because of many reasons, the first reason being the many things she does for me and all my siblings. Every morning she takes my younger siblings to school. After that she helps my father in his business of painting and tile. She does so by picking up checks dropping of checks and paying the workers. Once it's time she picks up my siblings from school. Every time we come home from school the food is hot and ready to eat. She also takes my younger siblings to their activities during the week.
On top of that she serves at church in many areas. She's the one to record the services, she helps sing on the worship team, she helps in the children's ministry, she gives lessons every other Tuesday during our church prayer time. Once a month she leads the women bible study while planing the event.
The most important thing she says that she can give us is not the things of this world like money but instead to teach us who Jesus is and what he did for us.
This is why I believe my mom is worthy of 2025 HCNA Mother of the Year.

Over the weekend, we lost a great neighbor. Mr. Dotson was known for riding his golf cart around the neighborhood and always doing whatever he could for his neighbors. He was such a friendly and caring soul and will be deeply missed. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Warren County has eight storm shelters throughout its park system. Built to withstand winds of 200+mph, these facilities are open to the public and staffed by Warren County Parks for use only when tornado watch and/or warning alerts are issued by the National Weather Service (not severe thunderstorm alerts). All tornado shelters are stocked with water, weather radio, flashlight, and other various emergency items. All facilities have changing tables, and some have restrooms. Pets are permitted if they are leashed or caged only at the County Parks. NO PETS ARE ALLOWED IN THE COUNTY FIRE STATIONS Look for the tornado signs to direct you to the shelters when you enter the parks
