We love Wentworth!
But he's been here too long! Wentworth came to us with Long John Silver and Doralee who were adopted last month. Wentworth said he won't be overlooked anymore and is ready for a new home!
Because of his persistent appetite and choosie behavior with feline friends, we recommend he be the only cat in the home.
Wentworth is neutered, microchipped, and fully up-to-date on vaccines & preventions.

This Friday!! Bowling Green Arts Council is proud to announce the tenth anniversary of Art 4 Animals, an animal-themed juried art show from October16 – 30, 2026, at ArtSpace, 178 S Main St. (rear alley) in Bowling Green.

A free opening reception for the public will be from 5-7 pm on Friday, October 16. The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 6pm, and Saturday from 10am to 5pm. There is no charge for admission, and the public is welcome.

Works from artists of all ages will be featured in the show, with prizes awarded in age
categories (5-8 Grade, 9-12 th Grade, and Adults), as well as for Best Domestic Animal and Best Wild Animal. This year, there are 27 artists exhibiting 38 works of art.

The works of artist-winners will be featured on note cards for sale at the reception and at Bowling Green merchants. Sales of the note cards will benefit the Wood County Humane Society and the Bowling Green Arts Council.
Art 4 Animals 10 is sponsored by the Bowling Green Arts Council and The Copy Shop.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Wood County Humane Society.

This little guy was was from his home off of Oak Knoll Drive in Perrysburg on 10/13.
This photo is from his kitten days but the owner unfortunately doesn't have a more recent photo. He is now roughly 11lbs.

When Milo came to us we knew immediately that something wasn't right. He was so thirsty and so thin. After a vet visit and some quick bloodwork our suspicions were confirmed. Milo is diabetic.
Milo likely has been living undiagnosed for some time and unfortunately diabetic animals struggle to be well managed in an animal shelter environment.
That is why we are looking for the right family to take him in as soon as possible.
Diabetes management in small dogs is not too expensive, with a Vetsulin bottle costing around $60 but lasting possibly TWO MONTHS!
Diabetic animals need blood tests at the veterinarian to make sure their insulin dose is correct and it is recommended they stay on a special diet as well.
Milo is so playful, does tricks and is in excellent spirits despite his current condition.
For the right adopter WCHS will sponsor his first bottle of insulin.

Milo gets along with other dogs and children, we do not know about cats.

Are you looking for another way to help? Maybe you might not have the extra funds to donate? Maybe you're spending a lot of time in the cheese section debating the difference between gorgonzola and bleu cheese?
Kroger Community Rewards is an easy and NO COST way to donate to the cause of your choice. Anyone with a Kroger rewards card ( those are free too) can choose us as their non-profit charity to receive quarterly donations based on your purchases!
