We are the Southern Comforters, a quilt guild in Bowie, MD, celebrating the rich history of quilts and quilting in our community. Founded in 1982, our guild shares the legacy, interest, and skills of quilting by hosting speakers, demonstrations, workshops, and more. Every month, we have an in-person general meetings on the second Wednesday and a virtual general meeting on the fourth Wednesday. We

We can't wait to see you! And if you are blessed with an abundance of canned and dry goods, we are collecting donations for the Bowie Food Pantry. Rice and beans, canned vegetables and fruits and meats, soups meal builders. We have neighbors in need who would appreciate the support.

Congratulations to Southern Comforters member, Leslie Wojciechowicz on winning our 2025 Anniversary Quilt.
This quilt was designed by last year’s winner, Charlotte Kieliszek.

Traditionally, the winner plans and organizes the upcoming quilt and members make and sign blocks. Leslie has already started with planning next year’s quilt.

Last evening during our Anniversary Dinner meeting we were thrilled to present our 2024 Raffle quilt, “June’s Blossoms “ to the winner , Diane Gerrior of Annapolis, MD. Congratulations Diane!!
