Masonic Juneteenth
On this Juneteenth, we pause to honor the enduring spirit, resilience, and freedom of African Americans whose struggles and sacrifices helped move our nation closer to its founding ideals of liberty and justice for all.
As Freemasons, we are reminded that our Craft teaches the sacred principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. Juneteenth calls us to reflect upon these principles and renew our commitment to human dignity, equality, and the bonds that unite all people as one family under the Fatherhood of God.
The announcement of freedom in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, marked a significant milestone in the journey toward justice. While we celebrate that historic achievement, we also acknowledge the continuing responsibility to build communities where respect, opportunity, and understanding flourish.
May this Juneteenth inspire us to labor together as builders of a better society, tearing down walls of division and strengthening the pillars of unity, compassion, and peace.
Let us remember the past, celebrate the progress made, and continue the work of ensuring that the light of freedom shines brightly for all.
Happy Juneteenth.
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” — Psalm 133:1
