A Door Reopened, A Future Restored

After more than a year of silence, the doors have reopened in Tây Ninh for our education program. What was once paused is now alive again, as 86 children gathered with excitement on the very first day back. It was a moment filled with gratitude, knowing that God had made a way for this work to begin again. This program was started back in 2018-2019 and has been off and on as the government allows

As the children arrived, our THOH staff took time to learn more about each one, creating a list and asking about their lives and education. There was encouraging news. Around 35 children are now attending government school, even if they began later than expected. But many others have dropped out completely. When asked what they do at home, most shared that they spend their days playing, while a few help their families by selling lottery tickets or assisting with fishing. These conversations revealed both progress and great need.

The team was especially encouraged to welcome back Lan Anh, a volunteer teacher who had previously served with them. In the morning, she focused on reading and writing, patiently guiding the children through basic skills. She also led a discussion about the four seasons, inviting each child to share which one they liked most. The room quickly filled with excitement as the children participated, even though many struggled with slow reading and frequent spelling mistakes. Still, their willingness to engage showed a growing desire to learn.

In the afternoon, Nguyen shifted the focus to a Bible lesson about building a house on the rock or on the sand. Knowing that many of the children often struggle with fighting and using harmful words, this message was especially important. Recently, Pastor Bình had provided Bibles to some of the children, making it the perfect time to help them understand how God’s Word can shape their lives.

The children watched a video of Jesus teaching His disciples about obedience and forgiveness. Afterward, they played an interactive game using real-life situations, helping them recognize what it looks like to build on a strong foundation versus a weak one. Through this, they began to understand the difference between wise and foolish choices. It was clear that the lesson connected with them, and there is hope that God will continue to transform their hearts through His Word.

Throughout the day, the children also memorized two key verses, one from Proverbs and one from Psalms, learning that true wisdom comes from the Lord and that His Word is a guiding light for their path. They joyfully practiced singing “My Wonderful Light” and ended the day with a craft, creating small Bible booklets to take home as a reminder of what they had learned.

As the ministry continues to grow, there are also practical needs. The current tables at the church are too high, heavy, and unstable, creating challenges and potential safety concerns. To better serve the children, the team is planning to provide around 40 small plastic tables, creating a safer and more effective learning environment for them.

Moving forward, the classes will continue twice a month on Saturdays. What has begun again in Tây Ninh is more than just a program reopening. It is a fresh opportunity to invest in these children, to guide them in both education and faith, and to build a foundation in their lives that will stand firm for years to come.

The Power of a Simple “Yes”

After three months away, the Tiny Hearts of Hope team returned once again to the province of Ninh Thuận, where God continues to open doors and soften hearts among the children and families there.

One Saturday last month, our THOH staff led a lesson centered on the “Prayer Hand,” teaching the children how each finger represents a different part of prayer: praise, thanksgiving, confession, intercession, and petition. What seemed like a simple lesson quickly revealed the deeper challenges these children face. Many did not even know the names of their fingers. Compared to other places THOH has visited, the children in this area were noticeably more shy and hesitant, lacking confidence to speak or answer questions.

With patience and encouragement, we gently invited them to respond to simple questions like, “What do you thank God for?” One by one, the children began to speak. Even some of the adults joined in. As the room slowly came alive, the children expressed gratitude for God’s love, confessed struggles like lying or fighting, and shared prayers for wisdom and success in school. In those moments, something shifted. Confidence began to grow, and hearts began to open.

As the lesson transitioned into coloring activities and simple exercises, another sobering reality became clear. Some children, even those over ten years old, are unable to read or write because they do not attend school. This deeply impacted Nguyen, stirring both concern and prayer about how Tiny Hearts of Hope can more effectively support not only their spiritual growth, but also their education moving forward.

Nguyen’s mother joined the trip, serving in her own meaningful way. She lovingly cut hair for both children and adults, offering care that restored dignity and brought joy. Afterward, she prepared spaghetti, a meal the children had never experienced before. Their excitement was unmistakable. Many eagerly asked for second servings, and even the parents enjoyed trying something new. Through thoughtful planning, the team was able to keep costs low while creating moments the families will not forget.

On Sunday, our staff shared about God’s promise to Abraham and His faithfulness, while also reviewing the “Prayer Hand” and previous lessons like the Tower of Babel and Noah’s Ark. It was encouraging to see that the children remembered these stories, a clear sign that God’s Word is taking root in their hearts.

The team also brought a box of clothing, allowing each child to choose something for themselves. The joy on their faces as they found clothes that fit was a simple but powerful reminder of how much even small acts of love can mean.

One of the most powerful moments came quietly after dinner. A young girl named Mỹ Lệ made the brave decision to receive Jesus Christ. Though she was afraid of how her family might respond, she had been faithfully coming to church each week, learning and growing. At first, she said no when asked if she wanted a relationship with God. But through the gentle encouragement of her friend Trinh, she found the courage to say yes. That night, Mỹ Lệ prayed and gave her life to Christ.

This is why we go.

Tiny Hearts of Hope will continue returning to Ninh Thuận, walking alongside these children, encouraging their growth, and shining the light of Christ into their families and community. There is still much to be done, but God is clearly moving, one life at a time.

Tomorrow’s Hope Scholarship Program 2026-2027: Growing Hope, Expanding Reach

As we step into our 12th year of the Tomorrow’s Hope Scholarship Program, we are filled with gratitude for all that God has done—and faith for all that He will continue to do. Year after year, we have watched Him provide, sometimes in quiet ways and sometimes in powerful, undeniable miracles. And through it all, one thing remains the same: children’s lives are being changed through the gift of education.

Building on Last Year’s Impact
Last year, we focused our efforts in Quảng Nam, Quảng Ngãi, and expanded into Ninh Thuận, reaching about 260 children. Even through challenges in funding, God made a way, and we were able to place hope into the hands of each child we served.

This year, we feel led to take another step forward.

Expanding to Reach More Children
For the 2026–2027 school year, we will once again serve:

- Quảng Nam – among the Ka D**g tribe

- Quảng Ngãi – among the Hre tribe

- Ninh Thuận – among the Raglai tribe

And this year, we are adding a new area:

- Suối Đục – a community with deep need and limited access to educational support

With this expansion, our goal is to provide scholarships for 350 children—more than ever before.

A New Approach to Meet the Need
Over the past few years, we have faced ongoing challenges with funding shortfalls. In order to continue reaching as many children as possible, we are making an important adjustment this year.

Instead of full scholarships, we will provide partial scholarships, and we are asking for $50 per child.

While this is a change, it still makes a significant difference. These funds will help families cover essential school costs such as tuition, supplies, and uniforms - removing barriers that often keep children from attending school at all.

Why This Still Matters
For many of these families, even a small financial burden can mean the difference between a child going to school or staying home. Your support helps keep children in the classroom, gives them the ability to learn, and allows them to begin dreaming about a future beyond poverty.

We have seen it firsthand—children who once had no direction now have goals, confidence, and hope. Education doesn’t just change one life; it changes families and entire communities.

Join Us This Year
As we begin this year’s campaign, we invite you to be part of what God is doing.

For just $50, you can help a child stay in school.
You can be the reason they keep learning.
You can be part of a story that changes a life forever.

Moving Forward in Faith
We don’t know exactly how God will provide this year—but we do know that He will. He always has. And we trust that He will continue to move through the hearts of those willing to say “yes.”

Thank you for standing with us, believing in these children, and helping us carry hope into places where it’s needed most.

God Moves Even in Unexpected Circumstances

At the end of the Colorado Hope Team’s visit, a short trip to Mũi Né was planned as a time of rest, reflection, and fellowship after several full days of ministry together. It was meant to be a joyful closing moment for both the team and the Tiny Hearts of Hope family. However, shortly before the trip began, several children at the Hope House came down with chicken pox. Because of this, many of the Tiny Hearts of Hope staff were not able to join the trip as originally planned. What first felt like a disappointment quickly became a reminder that God’s plans are often different from ours, yet always better.

Even with these unexpected changes, God continued to work in a beautiful and powerful way.

During our time in Mũi Né, we shared many meaningful moments together through meals, conversations, prayer, devotions, and worship. One of the most special times took place early one morning during a sunrise beach devotion. As the sun rose over the ocean, the team gathered to worship together in English, singing songs of praise and thanksgiving for all God had done during the week. Afterward, the Tiny Hearts of Hope staff led everyone in a Vietnamese worship song, lifting their voices to the Lord along the shoreline.

As we sang, a group of Vietnamese school students who had come to watch the sunrise nearby began listening with curiosity. They lingered quietly, watching and listening as worship continued. Afterward, they approached the group, and through conversations with the THOH staff, they heard the Gospel clearly and personally. That morning, several of these students chose to accept Jesus as their Savior.

Before leaving, they asked with excitement whether we would return the next morning. We told them yes, as it would be our final day before traveling back to Ho Chi Minh City. True to their word, they returned the next day, bringing two more friends with them. After spending time talking again, these additional students also asked to accept Jesus into their hearts. What a blessing it was to witness God working so gently and naturally through worship on the beach!

In total, seven young people made decisions to follow Christ during this unexpected time in Mũi Né. We are continuing to stay in contact with them and have helped connect them with a local church in the area so they can continue growing in their faith and be supported in discipleship.

Although many of the Tiny Hearts of Hope staff were unable to attend the trip as originally planned because of the illness at the Hope House, God used what seemed like a setback to open doors none of us could have arranged ourselves. It was a powerful reminder that even when circumstances feel discouraging, the Lord is always working behind the scenes for good.

The seeds planted throughout the week through games, songs, Scripture memory, teaching, and friendship continued to grow, and the fruit became visible in these decisions for Christ. We thank God for these seven young lives and pray that He continues to guide them as they walk forward in faith.

Even when plans change because of sickness or unexpected circumstances, God’s plans remain steady, purposeful, and full of hope.

Serving the Hope House Through Renovation

The Colorado Hope Team planned to spend the day at the Hope House working alongside the children and enjoying fellowship together. It was meant to be a special time of connection after several full days of ministry, giving the team an opportunity to serve in practical ways while also strengthening relationships with the children who call the Hope House home. However, shortly before the visit, we experienced an unexpected challenge. Several of the children at the Hope House came down with chicken pox, creating a health concern for everyone involved.

This outbreak raised particular concern for members of the Colorado team whose children had not yet received the chicken pox vaccine. There was a real possibility that exposure could affect their ability to travel back to the United States on schedule. Because of this, and out of care for both the team and the children, we made the difficult decision to temporarily relocate the Hope House children to a nearby hotel while the renovation work was completed. Tiny Hearts of Hope covered the cost of housing the children there so the team could continue serving safely and responsibly.

Although the team was disappointed not to spend extended time playing and interacting with the children as originally planned, they faithfully stepped into the work projects that had been prepared ahead of time and approached the day with flexibility and servant hearts.

After arriving at the Hope House, the team began working on a number of important improvements throughout the property. They painted both interior and exterior walls to refresh living spaces and common areas, installed new fans to improve airflow in the home, repaired several doors that had become worn from daily use, poured new concrete at the gate entrance to improve safety and accessibility, and relocated the outdoor sink to a more practical location for everyday needs. One especially exciting addition for the children was the installation of a new basketball hoop, which will provide many opportunities for play and recreation once everyone returns home.

Even though the usual laughter and activity of the children were temporarily missing from the house that day, the work carried deep purpose. Each repair and improvement helps strengthen the Hope House as a safe, welcoming, and functional home for the children in our care. These are the kinds of changes that quietly support daily life in meaningful ways long after a team has returned home.

What stood out most was the willingness of the Colorado Hope Team to adjust their expectations and continue serving wherever the need was greatest. Ministry does not always unfold the way we plan, but their flexibility reflected true partnership and compassion for the children and staff of the Hope House.

We are deeply grateful for the Colorado Hope Team and the way they invested their time, energy, and hearts into strengthening our Hope House during a season when their help was especially needed.

Hygiene Camp with Cambodian Refugee Children in Tây Ninh

On our ministry journey, next, the Colorado Hope Team began their day before sunrise, departing Ho Chi Minh City at 6:00 a.m. for the four-hour journey to Tân Châu Church in Tây Ninh. Though the trip was long, the anticipation of spending the day with the children from the Cambodian refugee community gave the team energy and excitement as they traveled. When they arrived, they were welcomed by children who had already gathered and were eagerly waiting for the program to begin.

This outreach location is always especially meaningful—and especially delicate. The community we serve there consists largely of children whose families are Vietnamese by heritage but were born in Cambodia and now live in Vietnam without legal status. Because of their situation, they do not have the same rights as other residents and are not permitted to live on land. Instead, many families build homes on the water in floating shanty communities to avoid restrictions tied to land ownership. For this reason, ministry in the area is sensitive and must be carried out carefully in cooperation with local authorities.

Even on the day of our visit, the need was far greater than what we were allowed to do. More than 300 children hoped to attend the Hygiene Camp, but the government only granted permission for 85 children to participate. As always, Tiny Hearts of Hope arranged and covered the cost of transportation to bring these children by bus from their floating community to the local church where the program could legally take place. We are not permitted to hold ministry activities directly in the shanty town itself, so each opportunity to gather at the church is both limited and precious.

After unloading supplies and preparing the space, the morning began with icebreaker games and songs that quickly filled the church with energy and laughter. As throughout the week, *Peace Like a River* and *Jesus Loves the Little Children* helped communicate powerful truths in ways the children could easily understand and remember. These songs were more than just activities—they became reminders that God’s love reaches across every border, language, and circumstance.

The focus of the day was a Hygiene Camp built around the message that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. The children learned practical and important habits such as brushing their teeth properly and washing their hands thoroughly. For many of them, these lessons are not regularly taught at home, so even simple demonstrations can make a lasting difference in their health and confidence.

Along with these practical teachings, the children memorized Bible verses with motions and participated in crafts and coloring activities that reinforced what they were learning. The lessons connected physical care with spiritual identity, helping the children understand that caring for their bodies is one way they honor the God who created them. They were encouraged not only to stay clean and healthy, but also to guard their thoughts, actions, and words as children loved by Him.

One especially touching moment came when a child quietly asked, “Why are American people white while we are dark? They look beautiful, but I am ugly.” It was a question that revealed how deeply insecurity can take root in young hearts growing up on the margins of society. Through the songs, the teaching, and the love shown by the team, the children were reminded that God created every person in His image and that each one of them is precious in His sight. Watching their faces brighten as they heard this truth again was a powerful reminder of why these outreach days matter so much.

After sharing lunch together and distributing small gifts, the team spent time talking, laughing, and connecting with the children before packing up supplies and preparing for the long return trip. As they boarded the bus and began the journey back to Ho Chi Minh City, there was a deep sense of gratitude—for the children who were able to attend, for the opportunity to serve in a sensitive area, and for the reminder that even when access is limited, God continues to open doors for hope to reach places that are often forgotten.

Bringing Hope to Children at the Cancer Hospital

On our next Ministry day, the Colorado Hope Team traveled to an area surrounding the Oncology Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for a very meaningful outreach alongside local partners serving families with children receiving cancer treatment. Rather than working inside the hospital itself, our team partnered with the Green Seedling Shelter charity in Thu Duc City, located just behind the hospital, where many families stay while their children undergo long and difficult medical care.

These families often leave their home provinces and live for extended periods in temporary housing near the hospital so their children can receive treatment. Life during this time can be uncertain and exhausting, both emotionally and financially. It was a privilege for Tiny Hearts of Hope and the Colorado Hope Team to come alongside them with encouragement, activities, and the message of Christ’s love.

Together with the Green Seedling Shelter team, we gathered with children and families on a small dead-end street next to the shelter. What might seem like an ordinary street became a place filled with laughter, music, learning, and hope. The team led songs, games, and crafts that allowed the children to relax and enjoy being together in a joyful environment, even while facing difficult circumstances.

During the program, the team shared the Gospel using the five colors and the five-point star. This simple presentation clearly explained God’s love, our need for forgiveness, and the gift of salvation through Jesus. It was encouraging to see how attentive the children were as they followed along and repeated the meaning of each color. Even in a challenging season of life, their openness to hearing about God’s love was evident and moving to witness.

One especially touching moment came as the children sang Jesus Loves the Little Children together. Surrounded by hospital buildings and temporary shelters, the truth of that song carried deep meaning. It reminded everyone present that these children are not forgotten, not overlooked, and never alone. Jesus sees them, knows them, and loves them.

Throughout the morning, the team spent time talking with families, playing games with the children, and sharing small gifts, snacks, and lucky money as expressions of care and encouragement. These simple acts helped create connection and brought smiles to both the children and their parents.

Although our time together lasted only a few hours, the impact reached far beyond the street where we gathered. We are thankful for the partnership with the Green Seedling Shelter and for the opportunity God gave us to serve children and families walking through one of the hardest seasons of their lives.

Please continue to pray for these children and their parents as they continue treatment, and for the local ministries faithfully serving them each day. Even in places marked by uncertainty, God continues to make His hope known.

Teaching Identity and Protection at the Hope Center

On our first ministry day, the Colorado Hope Team traveled north to the Hope Center in Phú Lý for a deeply meaningful day of encouragement, learning, and Gospel-centered activities with the children living there. From the moment the team arrived, the room filled with laughter, anticipation, and excitement as the children gathered together, ready to sing, learn, and spend time with their new friends from across the world. It was clear that this day would be more than just activities. It would be a day of planting truth and hope in young hearts.

Together, we led a Purity Camp focused on helping the children understand that their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and that they were created by God with purpose, dignity, and value. Through games, worship songs, Scripture memory with motions, crafts, and a puppet show, the children learned practical ways to protect their bodies and recognize healthy boundaries. One especially important lesson helped them understand the concept of safe and unsafe touch, including protecting private areas of their bodies. This was presented carefully, lovingly, and in an age-appropriate way so the children could both understand and remember what they learned.

This lesson carried special importance because the Hope Center serves primarily children from the H’Mong tribal community. Recently, government policy required that nearly half of the children who had been living at the Hope Center return to their families in the northern mountain regions. Sadly, many of these families live in deep poverty and struggle even to provide enough food. In some cases, young girls were quickly pushed into early marriages simply because their families could not support them. Some were as young as 14 years old. Because of these realities, teaching the children how to protect their bodies and understand their worth in God’s eyes is not only helpful. It is essential. These children are especially vulnerable, and the truth they received that day may stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Throughout the program, the children joyfully sang Peace Like a River and Jesus Loves the Little Children. Their voices filled the room as they clapped and smiled, reminding all of us that the peace of Christ reaches across cultures, languages, and circumstances. These simple songs carried a powerful message: every child is precious in His sight, and each one belongs to Him.

The team also led Scripture memory time with motions, helping the children actively engage with God’s Word. Watching them repeat the verses together, laughing as they learned the motions and encouraging one another along the way, was a beautiful picture of truth taking root in young hearts.

More than anything, this day reminded the children that they are not forgotten. They are seen. They are valued. And they are deeply loved by God. We thank the Lord for the opportunity to stand alongside the staff at the Hope Center and invest truth, protection, and identity into the lives of these precious children. Please continue praying that the seeds planted during this visit will continue to grow, strengthen them, and guide them in the years ahead.
