Maryland Blue Jays softball sponsors fastpitch softball teams and conducts softball training for girls. Our motto is Pride, Passion, Preparation!

Based in Bowie, MD, the Maryland Blue Jays fastpitch softball program is for highly motivated female athletes who want to play competitive softball and train year-round. Our teams play in fastpitch softball leagues and tournaments against other select softball teams. We also conduct softball training and participate in local softball camps and skills clinics. Our student-athletes take pride in the

Blue Jays Nation, a special congrats to Maryland Blue Jays 14U RBI Team in obtaining 2nd Place (Sliver Bracket) in their first travel tournament; City ShootOut, Newport News, VA. We are extremely proud of these young athletes!!!

As special kudos to Coach Jordyn Bradshaw & Coach Savanna Marshall in doing yeoman’s work to teach, develop, and mentor these athletes. GO BLUE JAYS!! 🙏🏽💙

Mr. Nelson Grillo, Founder & Inaugural President established Bowie Blue Jays in 2009. Coach Grillo started the organization after searching for opportunities for his Bowie Boys & Girls club to seek stiffer competition. Since then, Maryland Blue Jays have earned multiple Maryland State Championships and compete in National championships and college showcases. Number of athletes that have come through his program, earned athletic and/or academic scholarships…Priceless!!!

Maryland Blue Jays 16U Showcase Team had an excellent performance at the Eastern Nationals Championship, Loudoun, VA. Going 8-2 on the week, Blue Jays 3rd Place Finish was a culmination of Team first mentality! Yet, a special thank you must go out to our family of devoted parents for making Nationals special! You are by far the loudest, fun-loving, affectionate group we ever had. GO BLUE JAYS!!

Since its inception in 2009, Maryland (former Bowie) Blue Jays has been dedicated to the youth of Prince George's County who aspire to play fastpitch softball. Blue Jays has grown into one of the most successful and premier organizations in the DMV. August 2024, Blue Jays 16U Showcase Team will build on that success and will matriculate to the nationally recognized 18U Stars National Organization.

Whether it’s the Blue Jays or Stars National, we will continue the mission, legacy of supporting student-athletes to live their dreams of becoming collegiate students first and athletes second! GO BLUE JAYS!! !

Blue Jays Nation: The first travel season of the Maryland Blue Jays 14U Nike RBI Team continues to impress beyond expectations! In the CML Tournament, Blue Jays went 3-2 on the weekend facing several much-experienced travel teams. We are extremely proud to see this team continue to gain much invaluable experience; grow and develop. GO BLUE JAYS!!

Maryland Blue Jays Showcase Team had an exceptional weekend at the premier Starz Gold Summer College Showcase, Richmond. Team went undefeated (4-0) in front of a stanch following of college coaches. Blue Jays continue to impress with talent level, team speed, athleticism, and outstanding Team GPA. Next stop, nationally recognized Atlanta Legacy College Showcase. GO BLUE JAYS!!

Congrats to Maryland Blue Jays Showcase athlete Natalia Jarquin (2025/P/SS) on being elected to the highly prestigious Washington Post 2024 All-Met Softball Team. Natalia’s Honorable Mention selection culminated in a magical season in steering Eleanor Roosevelt HS into the Maryland 4A State Championship. Kudos to Natalia for being recognized as one of D.C. area’s top performers! GO BLUE JAYS!!!

Maryland Blue Jays Showcase Team had an excellent performance at the Titans Showcase, Raleigh NC. Going 4-1 on the weekend, coaches were impressed among other attributes talent level, energy, and Team GPA. For their exceptional performance Madison Weems (SS/1B ’26) & Madison Stewart (P/3B ’26) were nominated to participate in the all-star Select Game. This weekend, the Showcase Team will travel to Chesterfield, VA to play in the premier Gold Standard College Showcase. GO BLUE JAYS!!

Congrats to Blue Jays Showcase athletes Aizza Torres (P/’26) & Lorien Pelote-Jones (OF/’26) in repeating as First Team 4A East All Montgomery County Team selection. Also receiving lofty accolades for their HS accomplishments; Kennedy Fultz (OF/’26) York Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) Division I All Conference Team; Addie Argiro (C/’26) & Maddie Argiro (2B/’26) selected Division III All Conference Team.
