📢ACTION ALERT: Congressional leaders have struck a back-room deal to force a vote on H.R. 3492—a dangerous bill that would criminalize gender-affirming care for transgender young people. The House could vote on this legislation as soon as NEXT WEEK.

If passed, H.R. 3492 would:
• Charge healthcare providers with a felony and threaten up to 10 years in federal prison
• Impose fines or even jail time on doctors and other providers
• Open the door to criminal charges against parents for following the guidance of their child’s medical team.

This bill is an unprecedented intrusion into the private relationship between families, their doctors, and the care young people need to thrive. It also specifically discriminates against transgender youth who need this care; non-transgender youth who access such care will continue to have that access…and non-transgender youth are the largest group of young people accessing this care, currently.

TAKE ACTION TODAY! Urge your Representative to oppose this discriminatory bill and protect the health and well-being of ALL youth by voting NO on H.R. 3492. Visit pflag.org/takeaction

The Maryland Commission on LGBTQIA+ Affairs, in partnership with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, is conducting a Community Needs Assessment to better understand the experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals living in Maryland.

"We invite you to take part in a brief, anonymous questionnaire (about 15–20 minutes) to share your perspectives. Your input will help inform policies, programs, and resources that support LGBTQIA+ Marylanders. The survey is open from October 1, 2025 to December 1, 2025.

Participation is voluntary. You may skip any questions you do not wish to answer, and you may stop at any time. No identifying information, including your name, email, or IP address, will be collected. There is no compensation for participation, and there are no significant direct risks or benefits to you."

The Maryland Commission for LGBTQIA+ Affairs in partnership with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore are conducting a survey to explore the needs of LGBTQIA+ Marylanders.

LGBTQIA+ Maryland residents age 18 and older are invited to participate and complete an important needs assessment that will take approximately 15 minutes.

The information gathered will help guide policy recommendations and prioritization.

The purpose of this project is to explore the perceptions and experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals living in Maryland and participants are being asked to complete a brief questionnaire in order to share your opinions.
