Lauren Dukes is a Freshman Mechanical Engineering Major at Southern University. Her curiosity of technology and mechanics inspired her at an early age. Throughout Middle School and High School, Lauren was enrolled in engineering, coding, and
robotics courses and competed in national competitions such as Future City, SeaPerch, and First Lego League. She aspires to own an engineering firm one day with the intentions to further the advancements of black women in STEM. Congrats Lauren! Ce’Asia Williams is a two-time recipient of the Denver Smith Foundation Memorial Scholarship. A Senior Nursing Major at Southern University, Ce’Asia aspires to pursue a career in travel nursing servicing minority & underserved communities around the world. A first generation college student hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, Lauren has noted Patient care, representation, financial security, and advocacy as driving factors for her career endeavors.

Ce’Asia plans to dedicate her practice as a healthcare worker solely to midwifery and assisting with safe, holistic women’s healthcare. She intends to amplify the representation of black women in her field and utilize her education to
provide much needed advocacy support and education to her patients and colleagues.

We’re so proud of Lauren and wish her nothing but continued success!
