Good morning everyone! Your amazing compliments and all the pictures that have been pouring in are much appreciated! LTR is very proud of our shelter and it was great to see all that showed up to celebrate. If you thought it was going to be some boring old 10 minute event… you missed out. We would like to give a huge thank you to all that attended. The opening ceremony included a perfectly timed Rusty Eichorn flyover right after the National anthem and fireworks. It was like our own little super bowl! A Huge thank you to Rusty from Glen’s Army and Navy for the flyover, Les Ollila for the Elmer stories, the Balsam Fire Dept and Swampsiders for the shuttle service, and of course the Brandstrom and Cone families for prepping the site. The four balloons released are probably still going! Here are a few pictures of the many that were sent. Mark your calendars for the first weekend in March as we will make this our annual sliding party event! Prez

Good morning LTR and friends! Good meeting last night. We are getting everything ready for Saturday’s Elmer Cone shelter and Delbert Brandstrom bridge dedication at the Balsam Creek shelter. Festivities will start at 11 and officially run till 3. Knowing us, probably later.Lol
The dedication will be at 1. We are not sure if sliding will be available, as we are not sure what Friday will bring for weather or rain. Bring a sled just in case . The weather on Saturday looks great so far and will be nice and warm for a couple camp fires and hanging out by the crick! There will be shuttle vehicles to get people in and out from County Road 333. Bring your Snowmobile’s only, no ATV’s. The maps of where to park along the road are included in the pics below. Food and pop/water are all included. BYOB and BYO lawn chairs! See you there! Prez

Good morning LTR! Today’s post is all about our upcoming shelter and bridge dedication/sliding party at our Balsam Creek shelter coming up on Saturday March 7th starting at 11 Am. Last year the riding season ended too early for us to have this. The trail is in great shape and the weather is warming next week. It should make it a great day! We will be dedicating the new shelter to Elmer Cone. Elmer was one of our club founders. Elmer also founded the Itasca County Trail Alliance, and the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame. Our new bridge will be dedicated to Delbert Brandstrom also a founder of our club and was a main builder of our Delbert Brandstrom trail and original bridge. It will be great day to also remember the life of our friend Parn! Food/Beverages and fun all provided. Everyone is welcome, bring the kids and make it your Saturday destination. Any members willing to help out preparing for this just send me a text and I’ll get us all organized! Prez 218-259-9293
