Thanks to all who came out today to remove the 12500 wreaths from the final duty stations at Massachusetts National Cemetery today. We were done in just over 2hrs. Great job by you all..

Happy New Year all. We are removing the wreaths this Saturday, 10 Jan at 10am. There is no ceremony, if you see a section with wreaths, remove them to the curbside of the section, and please assist cemetery staff with loading wreaths onto vehicles. Please bring a hockey stick or a closet pole to remove more wreaths quickly.

Yesterday I was honored to attend the Wreaths Across America ceremony and wreath laying at Hull Cemetery in Hull, MA. Almost 750 veterans were remembered and honored just there on that hill.

It was beautiful and felt really heavy and important as volunteers took wreaths off trucks and walked them to gravestones, where the wreath was laid... the volunteer took a step back, saluted, and thanked the veteran BY NAME ALOUD. This personalization and not just generalization is actually choking me up even as I type this. It was moving.

Shoutout to Daley & Wanzer who did a fabulous job (and from I'm told always do) putting this together - this year they had the honor of delivering wreaths to Arlington and participating there as well.

Also thanks to Charlie from Jakes Seafoods for the heads-up and invite. I appreciate it... and now that I've experienced it, I'll try to never miss it again. I recommend you checking a ceremony out next year too. ❤️🇺🇸

Cleaning up last minute details for ceremony tomorrow. We received our last delivery today of 6480 wreaths, bringing our total to over 12k wreaths. Please note that no wreaths will be placed until after the scripted ceremony at noon sharp (except for grave specific requests). The wreath trucks will be pre-positioned by Sections 9, 41, and 58. Again, the trucks will be locked until after the ceremony, so please walk to any of these sections immediately after the ceremony. Also, do not bring any poles, pipes, or sticks to place wreaths. This event is not a race, and no prizes will be awarded for the most wreaths placed by an individual. If you approach a truck with these items, you will be tuned away. Too many people who attend this great event each year, are disappointed to learn all the wreaths were placed before they got to the trucks because of this action. Also, the correct way to place wreaths is to say the veterans name, and place the wreath directly under plaque, with bow at 12 o'clock position. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Let's have a great event.

Wreaths Across America at Massachusetts National Cemetery could not happen without the enormous support of Site One in Mashpee for the last 3yrs. Their warehouse storage for thousands of wreaths the week prior to the event, their employees who unload the delivery trucks, unbox and then reload the wreaths onto their trucks and other donated trucks for delivery to the cemetery is an incredible lift for tis great annual patriotic event.
