Rescue 23 has arrived! Now it's time for the members to mount the equipment and, more importantly, drivers training. If you see the bay doors open at the firehouse, feel free to stop in and check it out yourself.

Today, members of the company represented the department at the final inspection of Rescue 23 in Lyons, South Dakota. In a few short weeks, R23 will be delivered. At that time, training and equipment mounting will then take place, eventually placing this beautiful truck in service. We would like to thank our sales team, Kenny and Bob from Defender Emergency Products for their patience and dedication to this 2 year-long project.

Congratulations and best of luck!

March 1st, 2025: Effective today the Somerville Fire Department accomplished a milestone achievement! We moved into our brand new Emergency Services Facility, located at 85 North Gaston Avenue. This project is nearly 40 years in the making. What became an idea many years ago, has become a reality on this day! All apparatus being housed together will provide a new response protocol, allowing these trucks to respond to emergencies with efficiency and safety!

We are overwhelmingly thankful to our residents, administration, council, and mayor for all their hard work in making this project possible! The committee formed to make this all possible has worked countless hours and they deserve recognition!
