In March the Woman's Literary Club of Bound Brook International Outreach Committee held a program presented by club member Sharon Yorlano. It featured the trip Sharon and her husband Anthony took to Spain to walk a 75 mile portion of the Camino Frances from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela. In one photo Sharon shares her Pilgrim Passport that was stamped along the journey to confirmed that she did indeed complete at least 100km of the trail so that she could receive her Compostela, the official document from the Cathedral.

At the March meeting of the Woman's Literary Club of Bound Brook we held our annual covered dish fundraiser and were treated to a program by Nancy Spears. Club member Linda Lewis was the program speaker for our January 2024 meeting. Linda shared the history of the terrarium as an accidental discovery by Nathaniel Ward in one of the most polluted parts of the world, London's East Ends in the late 1820s.
Originally known as Wardian cases, Linda explained the principle of a terrarium: water from the soil is taken up in the plant, water is released through the leaves via transpiration, water condenses
on the glass and runs back into the soil to be used again by the plant. She also brought supplies to allow club members to try their hand at making a terrarium to take home.
Thank you Linda for an interesting program!
