We founded our chapter of UNA-USA in 1995 to mobilize Boulder County citizens to support the vital work of the United Nations. Later, Ted Turner's historic gift of $1 billion created both the UN Foundation and the Better World Fund; in 2011, our chapter and the rest of UNA-USA merged with them. Our lectures, discussion groups, celebrations, awards, scholarships, fund-raisers and advocacy aim to inspire Boulder County residents -- and our leaders in Washington, D.C. -- to bolster the UN in its global work for peace, prosperity, freedom, and justice.

Local interventions can have a high impact

Boulder Rotary Club took the lead in fundraising for a safe enclosed playground and an indoor activity room for youngsters receiving inpatient treatment in the Psychiatric Department at a children’s hospital in Ukraine.

The Vinnytsia Regional Medical Center for Children’s Rehabilitation in Vinnytsia, Ukraine is the only specialized facility in Vinnytsia Oblast that provides comprehensive medical, psychosocial, and physical rehabilitation for children with neurological and musculoskeletal disorders, including children with disabilities and those affected by the war. For many of the latter suffering from emotional trauma, regular outdoor and indoor activities are an essential part of therapy and emotional stabilization.
