As Colorado Brazil Fest wraps up today with Dandha da Hora’s dance workshop at 12:30 PM, the Brazilian vibes don’t stop!

Keep the celebration going this evening at 6:00 PM with the amazing Jocelyn Medina Brazilian Jazz Trio at Trident Cafe in Boulder, bringing a beautiful blend of Brazilian jazz, Brazilian rhythms, and contemporary sounds.

Come enjoy great music, good company, and one more taste of Brazil before the weekend comes to a close!

Hey everyone! Today is Day 2 of Colorado Brazil Fest!
Last night, we had an amazing SOLD-OUT opening show with the Elisa Garcia Quartet and Gabriel Santiago Project. The audience was treated to Elisa’s beautiful journey through Latin American music, followed by a deep and heartfelt Brazilian jazz set from Gabriel Santiago and his incredible band. It was a wonderful way to begin the festival!
Tonight, August 7, we have two great events for you:

Samba on the Mall — FREE! | 6:00–7:00 PM
Come celebrate the energy of Brazilian Carnaval on Pearl Street! Bateria Alegria will be joined by Dandha da Hora, Alegria Dancers, Escola de Samba Denver, and Samba Colorado for an evening filled with samba, percussion, and dance.

Get there 15 mins early, bring a chair, bring your friends, and come enjoy this free outdoor celebration in front of the Boulder Historic Courthouse.
A quick note about the weather: It is expected to be around 93°F at 6 PM, so please bring plenty of water, stay hydrated, and take care of yourself in the heat. We’ll also have a water station available if you need a refill.

Choro & Forró Dance Night | 8:30–11:00 PM
Then we’re heading to Junkyard Social Club for a night of Brazilian music and dancing with the Dexter Payne Quintet and special guest Dandha da Hora.

The evening will move from lively choro and instrumental music into the irresistible rhythms of forró, baião, xote, and arrastapé. And don’t worry if you’ve never danced forró before! Maren Waldman will lead a short dance lesson between sets to get everyone ready for the second set.
And yes, there will be Brazilian snacks for sale at Junkyard Social Club to keep you fueled for the dance floor!
We hope to see you tonight and celebrate Brazilian music, dance, and culture together!
