If BVSD “is the place to be,” it must also be a place where families are heard, not handled. The Resilient Schools proposal wasn’t shaped by listening to the whole community — it was shaped to fit a decision already made. That has us wondering: are we being engaged? Or are we being managed?

Time is running out ⌛️ Visit BetterPlanBVSD.com to take action.

Media outlets hear us, the question is - does our Board of Education? Since the Resilient Schools Proposal was presented on Aug. 25, our questions remain unanswered. If the district and our elected officials tout listening, now is the time.

The board votes on Sept. 22 whether to close 4 schools, including Douglass, with no clear process, and little to no savings and capacity gains. We can do better.
