The Vesterheim Lodge is located in Boulder, Colorado and serves Boulder and the surrounding community. Vesterheim is a welcoming and culturally active group, involved in a variety of activities and groups that focus mainly on Scandinavian heritage and culture, both new and old. You do not have to be of Norwegian or Scandinavian descent to belong to the lodge. We welcome everyone who has an interes
t in Scandinavia. Some of our activities include:
Participation in Trollheim's annual Christmas Fair and the Scandinavian Midsummer Festival. We directed and produced the Scandinavian Midsummer Festival from 2008-2012. Participating in Boulder's annual Lights of December Parade. The crafts we sell are made by women in our Crafts Group, who meet monthly in various host homes. We have bimonthly women's teas at various host homes or tea rooms. Our Book Club meets regularly at a member's home to discuss works by Scandinavian authors. In addition, many of our members actively engage in cultural exchange with the other area lodges. Some of our members take classes at Trollheim Lodge in Rosemaling and Genealogy, or are studying Norwegian language. Vesterheim is not just about connecting and sharing about the Norwegian heritiage, but also about helping in the community. We help the city with the Spring Clean-up every April and give scholarships to local people or groups going to Norway, such as the Boulder High Jazz Band. If you would like to find out what we are all about, please come and visit us. We meet once a month at the Atonement Lutheran Church on Baseline Road & Inca Parkway in Boulder. There are always refreshments and an interesting program. We have tons of fun and are always looking for new members, especially young professionals and families. You do not need to be of Norwegian, or even Scandinavian descent to visit or join. We welcome anyone with an interest in Scandinavia. We'd love to see you!
