GeoTeachers- The Geological Society of America

GeoTeachers- The Geological Society of America GeoTeachers provides K-12 geoscience teachers with field camps, professional development and resources to use in the classroom.

TAP aims to raise number of teachers who are advocate for geoscience in their classrooms, schools and school districts by providing those teachers with:

1. Low cost teaching resources that provide them with teaching notes, teaching materials (images, models etc.) and usable class room activities.
2. Low cost training opportunities for teachers on how to use TAP materials.
3. In-field experiences for teachers to provide them with teaching materials and insights.

Check out this : “Geologic Names and Usage: A Guide to Stratigraphic Nomenclature,” Feb 24. This webinar provides a review of geologic names usage and stratigraphic principles that serves as a foundation for professionals and students to improve geoscience communication among all industries. The speaker will discuss consistent stratigraphic nomenclature as a means of effective geologic communication, which has been recognized since the USGS established the Geologic Names Committee in 1899 to evaluate and address issues of nomenclature. Our friends at the American Geosciences Institute invite you to participate in a survey to help improve the 2022 Earth Science Week Toolkit, which is distributed freely (recipients pay shipping and handling) each year to educators across the U.S. and internationally. AGI is collecting information on the general use of the toolkit, so even if you are not familiar with it, your input is still valuable. Your input will ensure that the Toolkit includes the most useful educational resources for use in Earth Science classrooms and programs. The estimated length of the survey is 10-15 minutes and has the option of participating in a drawing to receive a free 2022 toolkit.
