When you donate to select businesses, orgs or groups that specialize in a certain items or themes, such as Art Parts, Boulder Sports Recycler, Bo Co Puzzlers, Resource Central or Community Cycles, it makes it easier for peeps to find items that they have been patiently waiting for. It is more likely these treasures will be found and not be purchased new, so that benefits the planet too.

Mother’s Day is coming up tomorrow, May 10th. This is a reminder to include Mother Earth when thinking about gifts, cards, flowers and other things than can cause her harm.

Give Mother Earth a break by gifting a service that helps reduce waste.

Terracycle.com offers a Zero Waste Box that can be filled and sent back, thanks to a prepaid shipping label. They feature different categories that are based on the most need - snack wrappers to medical gloves and gowns.

Ridwell.com recycles hard-to-recycle items, such as batteries, lightbulbs, bottle caps, pet food bags, frozen food bags and all sorts of packaging. Ridwell has a doorside service, with a nifty metal collection box, available in some areas. They also have a mail-in-service with prepaid shipping labels that allows their service to be used just about anywhere.

May 2nd was a busy day for Living With Harmony. JP and Andrea both had events on the same day.

JP gave his presentation for Emergency Preparedness at Love Always Sanctuary in LA and Andrea had a PLANET-Based Life booth at the Lafayette Earth Day, Every Day event in Colorado. This doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it is a fun comparison.

CA had the driest March in recorded history. This affects all of us, since 50% of fresh vegetables and the majority of fruits and nuts that we consume are grown there.

In addition, ten states had the warmest March in recorded history. Droughts increase the fire risk and make the weather uncomfortable and unbearable.

Over 56% of the Colorado River is being drained for animal agriculture and to grow hay, alfalfa and feed.

It is only April and we need to think about what the summer will bring. This could be coolest summer of the rest of your life.
