Feet Forward empowers unhoused individuals in Boulder County by removing barriers to services and meeting basic needs, such as food, clothing, and sustained peer-led advocacy and navigation. Feet Forward is unique
to Boulder County in that our services are offered through expertise based on the lived experience of homelessness. We amplify the voices of those we serve and build collaborative supports throughout the community. Tuesday in the Park -
A weekly low-barrier, housing-focused community event that offers peer support, navigation services, and direct connection to local service providers to individuals experiencing homelessness in Boulder, Colorado. Hot high-value meals are provided along with an array of health and wellness resources and weather-appropriate clothing. In 2021, we served 5200 hot meals, gave away over 3000 pairs of socks, provided 72 haircuts (seasonal), made 350 connections to local partners, assisted over 150 individuals in the housing lottery and waitlist process, and identified 36 individuals who slipped through system cracks, of which 11 were housed in 2021. We were selected as an exemplar of trust building in homelessness by the Commonsense Institute and The University of Colorado, Denver, in October 2021. Peer Support -
Our goal is to expedite the housing process and end homelessness one step at a time. Our peer program provides housing-focused support through every step of a person's journey out of homelessness, including aftercare, to ensure people transition and adjust to the best possibilities of success. Mobile Navigation Shuttle -
We are bringing the building, and the services to people in need come December 2022. We purchased a 10-seat shuttle, and are in the process of converting it into a mobile service space, featuring a 1:1 service station, and another area that will be able to accommodate 4 people. That space will be used for services for couples, families, or group workshops. The privacy of the bus space will enable us to offer onsite housing assessments, assistance with governmental documents, and access to state benefits, peer support, small groups, and workshops. In addition, the shuttle will allow us to easily haul materials to Tuesdays in the Park. With the addition of the shuttle services, Feet Forward will function for two extra days, including a weekend day, allowing us to offer services three days a week. The shuttle ensures that we remain a centralized and low-barrier organization.
