The Shelby House is all decorated for Santa's visit Sunday!Reminder:The doors will be open from 1:30 to 3:00. Also, check out the large toy soldier decoration, it was donated to us years ago by Larry and Vera Thaman and was said to be one of the first village ornaments that was hung near the middle of town in circa 1960. Ed Limbert recently put a new base on it and fixed it up so it could be displayed!

Thank you to Pam and David Egbert for putting this map of Shelby County from 1865 on loan at the Shelby House. It is one of only 4 originals of this size known to exist. It was found in the walls of a farmhouse their family was renovating in 1960. It is very interesting to look back at the landowners at that time as well as all the other small towns that are no longer on the map! We are proud to display this map in our museum and are grateful to the Egbert family for loaning it to us!!
