Deaf Awareness Month is all about visibility, access, and community — and I’m proud to share an opportunity that brings all three together.

On Saturday, September 26th, Btone Fitness Newburyport is hosting two special sessions at 12 PM and 1 PM, and every sign‑up supports the Hear You Rise Foundation. This event isn’t just a workout — it’s a chance to stand with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community and help expand communication access, advocacy, and empowerment.

Happy Labor Day from Hear You Rise Foundation.

Honoring Labor Day with Gratitude and Purpose This Labor Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of workers across all communities—including those who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

We recognize the advocates, educators, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and changemakers who continue to push for accessibility, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. Your efforts make a difference every day.

As we reflect on the meaning of this holiday, HLAA Boston remains committed to empowering individuals with hearing loss to thrive in their careers, connect with their communities, and lead with pride.

I am excited to share that on Thursday, my company Hear You Rise, will be speaking at the MGH Institute of Health Professions about Breaking Barriers in communication and hearing healthcare.

This conversation matters. It’s a chance to bring lived experience into the classroom, empower future clinicians, and champion a more inclusive world for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

Every barrier we break opens the door for someone else to rise — and we’re proud to keep pushing that mission forward.

"You can't create barriers because of your policies or your lack of education."

This quote isn't just a statement. It's a reminder of why Hear You Rise Foundation exists. Every day, Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals encounter obstacles that could be removed with awareness, training, and intentional leadership. Policies should be flexible and open doors, not close them. Education should empower, not exclude.

My work is rooted in changing the culture around communication and accessibility. That means advocating for better systems, teaching organizations how to communicate inclusively, and making sure no one is left out because someone else didn't take the time to learn.

We rise when we build environments where everyone can participate fully. And I'm committed to pushing that mission forward, one conversation, one policy, and one community at a time.

DeafBlind Awareness Week is a reminder that:
