Meetup Alert! 🚪🔨🧪

Join us Thursday 5/21 for:
“Doors, doors, the Barn’s new door!”
with architect Stephanie Horowitz of .

We talk about windows all the time… now it’s time for doors to shine.

Who better to learn from than someone who’s spent the last 20 years designing incredible high-performance and Passive House homes?

Stephanie will walk us through ZeroEnergy Design’s approach to door detailing and installation, how their process has evolved over time, and some lessons learned along the way. We’ll look at details that worked, details that maybe didn’t, and how to make your next door install perform and last.

Plus, we have a guest star:⭐️
The brand new “Barn” door, provided by , was just installed! We’ll get an up-close look at this impressive triple-pane door and dig into the details together. I can’t wait to see it.

Well that was inspiring! Our panel discussion last week, supported by Jack Condon , was phenomenal. Thank you Stego! Those sweet v***r barrier cutters were gone in two seconds! 💨

Tagore Hernandez 📐 discussed what it takes to start a movement and the three action agents needed to make any movement gain traction and create durable change.

Advocates like 🍄‍🟫 Sara Kudra stretch the imagination. Implementors like 🔨 Evan Smith build to see what’s possible. Validators like 🧪 Mike Brown ask whether it actually works.

The roles push and pull each other forward, both antagonizing and supporting the other two along the way. It was an inspiring discussion that left us all with a better understanding of ourselves, our “why”, and the role we play in this BS* movement as well as an awareness for the perspectives of others and how we can all work together productively. Thank you to our host and panelists for sharing your experience and expertise with us all so generously!

Was great to just kick back and BS* a bit with the Boston geeks at last week. We talked air sealing, helical piers, ERV ducting, insulation strategy, and I finally got to learn what a grade beam is! Great to meet new friends…the more the merrier…and help each other out. Plus we gave away a beanie and a tee. Thanks for having us over Steveworks, the workshop looks great, and we will see you all again in March!
