Created on June 5th, 2013, BIWOC is an organization whose mission is to provide emotional support, resources, community, and a safe space to discuss intersectional issues that affect bi women of color. BIWOC has 3 goals:
1) To specifically address the intersectional needs and concerns of self identified bi women of color in Boston and abroad both online and in person.
2) To decrease social and emo
tional isolation in these communities.
3) To increase bi visibility and bi pride. We provide a monthly Coffee&Chat support group, co-host with the BRC a bi women partnered with men support group, have two online support groups, host a safe space for community members to ask anonymous questions via Tumblr, and provide up-to-date information about bi community news via our page and Twitter. We define bi women of color (bi woc) as self identified trans, non-binary and cis women who have multi-gender attractions; bis*xual, biromantic, pans*xual, fluid, non-monos*xual q***r, and unlabeled (bi*). Bi people of color (bi poc) refer to bi woc and also agender, androgyne, genderq***r, genderfluid, bigender, non-binary people, as well as trans and cis men. Women of Color are self-identified trans, non-binary, and cis gender women with a cultural, ethnic, or racial background of Native, Indigenous, Aboriginal peoples, Asian, Pacific Islander, African, Latina/Hispanic, Mixed Race, and Biracial heritage..........

Bis*xuality means I am free and I am as likely to want to love a woman as I am likely to want to love a man, and what about that? Isn't that what freedom implies? - June Jordan
I call myself bis*xual because I acknowledge that I have in myself the potential to be attracted - romantically and/or s*xually - to people of more than one s*x and/or gender, not necessarily at the same time, not necessarily in the same way, and not necessarily to the same degree. - Robyn Ochs
