🐢 Get ready to roll, Mass Chapter! The Cooter Scooters are hitting the trail this Saturday, July 18th at 10:00 AM! 🦝
​We are taking our slow-and-steady vibes to the Central Mass Rail Trail, kicking things off on the West Boylston side and cruising all the way over to the Jefferson side. Whether you're powered by a battery, pedals, or pure turtle determination, it's time to shell out some fun!
​Here is the game plan to keep it smooth and steady:
​10:00 AM Sharp: Kickstands up! Don't make the raccoon ride alone.
​Safety First: Helmets on, goggles optional (but highly encouraged for maximum style points).
​Rules of the Road: Share the trail, watch out for our fellow swamp and forest friends, and keep it at a safe, enjoyable cruising speed.
​Good Attitudes Only: Leave the shell-shocked moods at home; we are here for good vibes, big smiles, and splashing through the weekend.

Hey Cooter Scooter Club! 🛵💨
​We love seeing the crew out there buzzing through the streets, letting the wind blow through our hair (and mutual sense of bad judgment). But as our club grows and the ebikes get faster, we want to make sure everyone keeps their skin attached to their bodies.
​Let’s be real: crashing at 25 mph hurts a hell of a lot more than tipping over at 5 mph.

​Here is the Official Cooter Scooter Guide to Not Wrecking Yourself:
​🧠 1. Protect the Money Maker
​We don't care if it ruins your hair or doesn't match your fit. Wear a helmet. An ebike crash is a motorcycle crash-lite. Wrap that beautiful brain in some styrofoam.
​🛑 2. You Are Invisible (Act Like It)
​Cars are not looking for a bicycle moving at the speed of a gazelle.
​Assume drivers don't see you. * Use lights (even during the day).
​Make eye contact at intersections before you pull out.
​🚴‍♂️ 3. Don't Be a Sidewalk Menace
​Sidewalks are for pedestrians, strollers, and dogs. If you’re blasting down a sidewalk at 20+ mph, you’re the villain in someone else's story. Keep the high speeds to the bike lanes and roads. If you must use a sidewalk, slow it down to a walking pace.
​🛑 4. Brake Early, Brake Smoothly
​Ebikes are heavier and faster than regular bikes, which means they take longer to stop.
​Give yourself twice as much stopping distance as you think you need.
​Get used to using both brakes smoothly so you don't pull a Superman over the handlebars.
​🔋 5. Treat Your Battery Right
​We love the juice, but let’s avoid any spontaneous backyard bonfires.
​Only use the charger that came with your bike.
​Don't leave it charging unattended for days on end.
​If your battery is dented or pierced, get it checked out immediately.
​📢 Bottom line: We want to keep riding together for a long time. Let's keep the rubber side down and the vibes high.

Our Foundation

​We believe that life is best lived at 20 mph. We aren’t here to break records or win races; we’re here to break the monotony. The Cooter Scooter EBike Club is a collective of explorers, commuters, and weekend warriors who value the journey over the destination (mostly because we’re stopping for snacks halfway through anyway).

​The Code of the Road
​Respect the Battery: We honor the charge. A full battery is a promise of adventure; a dead one is a character-building workout.
​No Cooter Left Behind: We ride as a pack. If your motor cuts out or your chain slips, we all pull over.

We celebrate the assist.
​The "Pedal-Optional" Philosophy: We don't judge the level of PAS (Pedal Assist System). Whether you’re putting in the work or letting the thumb-throttle do the heavy lifting, you’re one of us.

​Safety Without the Snobbery: Helmets are mandatory; Lycra is optional. We wear what makes us feel good, as long as it keeps us upright and visible.

​Leave Only Tracks: We respect the trails, the paths, and the pavement. We ride quiet, we ride clean, and we leave the environment better than we found it.
