Love Day is officially over, but I’m still sitting with everything that happened.

389 book bags. 400+ pantry items. Fresh produce, prepared meals, school supplies, game consoles, basketball and so much more.

And this isn’t our first time doing this. From Love Day to BronxGiving, this work has always been about showing up for our community and making sure our families know they are seen.

None of this happens without mutual aid, volunteers, donors, community partners and people who believe in what we’re building. From the Bronx to people who supported us from outside of New York, we felt the love.

And now I have to say this…

, I see you answering people and engaging with the community, so I hope you see this too.

Please help us get Belmont Playground included in a Parks capital project.

Our young people deserve a basketball court and park they can actually be proud of. By the time we celebrate our 10th Annual Love Day,I want us celebrating in a Belmont that has been restored and invested in.

We’re not asking for recognition. We’re asking for investment.

We’ve shown what our community can do with what we have.

Imagine what we can do with the resources we deserve.

Belmont, it’s our turn.

WE ARE 5 DAYS AWAY FROM LOVE DAY 2026!

We’ve come a LONG way, and because of our community, our list of needs is getting smaller and smaller.

Someone started us off with a $5 donation today, and now we’re asking our community to help us close these FINAL gaps:

🎒 20 more bookbags
✏️ 30 more school supplies
⛺ 1 more pop-up tent
⚡ $179 more toward our generator

That’s it, y’all. We are SO CLOSE.

You don’t have to make a huge donation to make an impact. $5 helps. One bookbag helps. One item from our Amazon Wishlist helps. A share or connection to a local business helps.

Love Day is THIS SATURDAY, August 29, at Belmont Playground in the Bronx, and we’re working hard to make sure our kids and families have an amazing day.

Had the opportunity to attend the Breative Summer Soirée and speak about the work we’re doing through Da People’s Assembly NYC. ❤️
I shared how this work grew through collaboration with my brothers and how that same spirit of community and collaboration continues to guide everything we do.
Being in rooms like this matters. You never know who you’ll meet, what connection will be made, or what partnership can grow from simply telling your story.
Thank you Breatives Project for creating a space for us to connect, share and build.

Okay community, we’re getting closer, but these backpacks are NOT full yet!

We still need:
190 composition notebooks
181 spiral notebooks
140 highlighters
136 mini journals
89 colored pencils
Folders
Pens
And most importantly, BOOKBAGS!

The good news? Some of these back-to-school sales mean we can knock out an ENTIRE need without spending hundreds of dollars.

You don’t have to buy everything. Grab some folders. Buy 10 notebooks. Donate a pack of pens. Sponsor a few bookbags. Just pick ONE thing and help us cross it off the list.

Love Day is August 29, and our kids are counting on us.

LOVE DAY PARTNER SHOUTOUT 🏀

We’re excited to have Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball School collaborating with us for Love Day 2026!

This is what we mean when we say GET ON THE COURT. It takes schools, organizations, businesses and community members coming together to pour into our young people.

Thank you to the Earl Monroe community for stepping onto the court with Da People’s Assembly NYC and supporting our kids and families.

GET ON THE COURT MONDAY.

Love Day is 19 days away, and I’m going to keep it real. Donations have slowed down, but the need has not.

We see the views. We see people watching and sharing. We appreciate it. But right now, we need more people to get on the Court with us.

That can mean buying ONE item from the wishlist. Donating $5 or $10. Connecting us to a business. Volunteering. Donating water or supplies. Even asking your job if they can support.

We are trying to make sure our kids and families have what they need for August 29.

Don’t just watch the work happen. Get in the field with us.

School supplies are on sale everywhere right now, and this is the perfect time to help.

If you’re headed to Target, Staples, Walmart, Dollar Tree, or any office supply store, grab one extra notebook, one pack of pencils, or one box of crayons for Love Day.
