We will never forget those we lost and we stand with courageous long-term HIV survivors today and every day.

The LGBTQIA+ Aging Project recognizes June 5th as National HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day. This day honors the ongoing resilience of our community members who have been living with HIV for as many as 40 years, while also remembering those we lost to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

In Massachusetts, 64% of people living with HIV are over the age of 50. That number is expected to rise to 70% by 2030.

On this first day of Pride Month, we’re remembering raising the first Pride flag at The Pryde in June 2022, as construction was just beginning. That flag pole was removed to make room for handicapped parking and an EV charger.
The new flag pole flies the Progress Pride flag every day!
