Congratulations and hip, hip, hooray to our friends at the Equality Community Center - ECC in Portland, Maine, on the opening of Equality Commons -- the first LGBTQ-welcoming affordable senior housing community in Maine and the second in New England!

Equality Commons includes 54 affordable apartments for people 55 and older and offers additional services and programming for LGBTQ+ residents.

On Monday, August 10th, join us at The Pryde Community Center for an engaging presentation by historian Marvin Kabakoff and Q***r History Boston (The History Project: Documenting LGBTQ Boston) about Weimar Germany (1918 - 1933). Learn more about the political context for Germany's cultural explosion in art, architecture, theater, film, and sexuality. You’ll also get the chance to learn about Magnus Hirschfeld and the Institute for Sexual Science and its work to promote understanding and equal rights for all q***r people in the early 1900’s.
