Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock II—better known as “White Feather”—stands as one of the most legendary Marines in history. A master marksman with 93 confirmed kills in Vietnam, he became so feared that the enemy placed a bounty on his head.

His feats were extraordinary: crawling over a mile for days to eliminate a high-value target, and setting a world record with a .50-caliber shot that stood unmatched for decades. Yet his greatest act of courage came when his vehicle struck a mine—engulfed in flames, he pulled seven Marines to safety, earning the Silver Star.

Though injuries and illness ended his career early, Hathcock dedicated his final years to training the next generation of snipers. His life was defined not by numbers, but by selflessness and devotion to his brothers-in-arms.
